4th Infantry Division repelled multiple ambush attacks, at least 18 Iraqi attackers, 5 US soldiers were wounded. No reported deaths.

But, there would NOT have been any terrorists machine-gunned down if this op were under UN command....it would have been a repeat of the cat and mouse game played with UN "inspectors," you know, with such folks whose mentality and desires are like Scott Ritter's.

Part of the problem is that the locals don't know how piss poor the Home Team is doing when it takes the field against the Visitors, especially in SunniLand. Now that we are announcing enemy KIA, this should serve to give pause to the more ambitious among them, who probably would value money and a longer life more than they value lucre.

As long as we don't do Weekly Body Count, I have no problem with this. Body Count leads to corruption and officers puffing up count to get a good score on their OER.
