They would have preferred that the terrorists were machine-gunned by troops under UN command.

But, there would NOT have been any terrorists machine-gunned down if this op were under UN command....it would have been a repeat of the cat and mouse game played with UN "inspectors," you know, with such folks whose mentality and desires are like Scott Ritter's.

Exactly. I thought the original poster was being sarcastic.

The UN couldn't defend anything against a toothless, declwed pussycat, much less against any real attackers.
