Col. Hunt thinks they were tipped.
I wonder if this was a set up...

yes, sounds like a tipoff. maybe its the "hot water heater at midway" ruse, to flush them out? Hmm.

its also hard to know why we have body counts for this event don't kow if anyone has answered this question yet, but here are my 2 cents:
Somebody in the Administration finally wised up. By not reporting our successes, we have played into the hands of our detractors. The only news to report is our losses, and the other side is making hay out of those numbers while the Administration refused us the opportunity to show the balance.
Hopefully, that has now changed.

Colonel Hunt: They were after the money. They picked the wrong guys.
Colonel Hunt says there was a leak. We need to find it.

Here is an article with quotes from Rumsfeld from March 26, 2003.
We always considered the Fedayeen as terrorists.
Fedayeen Saddam 'essentially terrorists'
http://www.intellnet.org/news/2003/03/26/18608-1.htm "We have intelligence information saying that the Fedayeen Saddam people I'm not going to call them troops, because they're traveling in civilian clothes and they're essentially terrorists have been moving south into some areas, including Basra, and that they are in some cases pretending to surrender and then shooting people," Mr. Rumsfeld said.

These guys are dumber than a bag of chicken beaks. But even they have to have some sort of morale hit from this one. 46 dead buddies and nothing to show from it does not inspire confidence in the leadership.

And now FNC is showing a repeat of Fox News Sunday. Sheese.

I wonder if it was real money or monopoly money. And I bet the guy who leaked the info to the Fedayeen is on his way to Syria or Iran right now.
