Did you watch the - Ronald Reagan: A Legacy Remembered - on A&E Channel? I just finished watching it. It was a two hours program about Reagan from Actor to the time when he announced that he was affected by Alzheimer. I thought it was a great piece.
The part that stood for me, was the summit at Reykavic (?), Iceland, where Gorbachev wanted Reagan to exclude SDI from the agreement, and Reagan did not budge, infact he stood-up and walked out of the summit. The movie mentioned that Reagan called Gorbachev's bluff. And a few months later They had an agreement with SDI intact.
Gorbachev also credited Reagan as the right President at the right time. Gorbachev further said because had it not been for Reagan, we would not know what would have happened to the cold war.
It's a repeat. I taped it when it was originally shown, sometime in the last year. Good stuff.
The Reds would have won it.
I also got misty eyed when his riding trainer told him he could no longer ride and Reagan said "I know"
