A new controversey has erupted around the issue of gay marriage, as some black leaders have been outraged by comparisons being drawn between the civil rights movement (search) and the right of homosexuals to marry.

Observers have been drawing similarities between the two movements since the Massachusetts Supreme Court ruled last week that the state's constitution guarantees gay couples the right to marry. The court cited landmark laws that struck down bans on interracial marriage (search), but conservative black leaders object to the comparisons, arguing that sexual orientation is a choice.

Oh, please. Interestingly, the clamoring for "gay marriage" is in reality tacit acknowledgement that homosexuality is inherently wrong. Not one in a thousand understands this, however.

I beg to differ....there is segregation in the gay community. Just look at the special high school in New York City that was set up for gay students. They not only want everyone to accept there lifestyle, but they want special considerations as well and to use the civil rights movement as an example of what they are experiencing is sickening. IMHO, the people who lived through the civil rights movement had more guts than any gay today. They challenged the system knowing they were putting there lives on the line....the gays go running to the PC police when they don't get what they want. HUGE difference IMHO!
