Saw enough of that!
Had a friend of mine get the dragonflies slapped on his collar, and he basically cried.
Asked him why, and he said, "NCO's have to be RESPONSIBLE!"
*chuckle*

BAhAHAAA!!

I personally know a bunch of guys who would turn down E-5 for that reason.

I t can be kind of neat, being the herd bull in the paddock. One time, someone called up anyone who had more than six stripes on their lower arm. Two fellows, and I, got up. E-8, E-7, and lil' ol' me. Whispers went around the room. I laughed later.

Reminds me of Seargent Wilkerson.
"Old old timer" as the 'disrespectful youth' entering the unit Called him.
He had his 20 year letter.
Last I saw, he had Captain's bars and was asking me, "But.. but.. Keller, I HATE officers. Right?!"
*chuckle*

There was one guy my unit received, he supposedly was a Marine before coming to us - but no Marine I know of was ever that chewed up, he claimed to have been a Corporal in the Corps but never could provide paperwork for it.
Since he was a brown nosing twit, they gave him his Corporal stripes.
INSTANTLY his head swelled and he started acting like he was the Gunny.
He didn't last long in the unit.

Most of our NCO's were pretty decent guys, and trustworthy soldiers.
I miss them, but everyone I knew are literally spread to the four winds.

Yes, seems to me I heard that somewhere but can't wuite remember where.
(Years ago..)

And some of their Seargents are doing what we'd have E-6's and E-8's doing.

Miss America spent an hour pouring gravy for soldiers on the serving line.

Beats the heck out of the junior senator from NY.

Have adopted Steve but I will ask him if he knows anybody.

I have an email address and an APO address for Steve and 22 members of his company that he shipped with if any one wants them.

I'm waiting for a clearer picture of him to do that. here's one of him in Seattle before they left for Kuwait.

He says that's coffee he's drinking. I told him real men don't drink coffee with a head on it.

Eaker you made a fine suggestion about a get-together for several of us. I'd say there's two more young troopers who deserve an invite. Even if one doe go by the callsign *greybird* I count him and the lad in there as young troops....

[Betcha when Steve gets beck, he finds his money's no good around a few places where something wet and refreshing is on tap....]

Comments?
