BAGHDAD, Iraq (Reuters) - Some Iraqis were happy President Bush came to their country Thursday, others wished he had gone to hell instead.

"As far as I'm concerned he's welcome to come and he's more than welcome to leave," said Abu Mohammed, 57, a cigarette and chewing gum vendor on the streets of the capital.

Reuters, eh?

Long lines for gasoline...did they even have gasoline before the war. The sanctions are over, Hussein is no longer wasting money on weapons and palaces.

Yet somehow things are terrible. Why don't I buy this piece?

Those who want Bush to stay are Iraqi's who've been tortured. The Baathist want him in hell. I hope Khaled didn't lose sleep trying to write this one.

Win the "hearts and minds" of a society raised in the hate and ignorance of Islam......

Never...

They will be what they have been.....
They will respect ONLY what they fear...

We have not defeated the true enemy in Iraq...
Saddam was only the "dictator" in this sorry country....
The true enemy is militant Islam.. and its murderous cult leaders are in Saudi Arabia.....

Guess the DNC Donkey Cart/Voter drive has been a success. It's a sad state of American politics, when you can't tell if the venom spewed, is from a Saddam loyalist or a Democrat.

And these whiners would have done better had Bush NOT involved us?? Some people are just plain lazy! They expect freedom to come at zero cost to them and they want like instant potatoes. Just add water and it's done! I guess if Saddam was still running things, they would have their jobs, etc. and fear for their lives. Freedom is NOT cheap NOR easy!

I'm not a big fan of Reuthers, but look at segments of American society who want everything yesterday without sacrificing anything.

Man in the street interviews are always suspect, but at least in the old days reporters went out and questioned the first few people they happened to run into.

Now they just keep interviewing until the get the comments they want. Then they carefully cut and paste to create the predetermined effect they want. Or, if necessary, they just make the quotes up.

"We welcome Bush as we welcome any guest who comes peacefully," he said. "But we want to draw attention to the fact that there is no security, no jobs and no services well into the American occupation of Iraq. "

Unreal, he sounds allot like some liberal Democrats. They have their freedom and they are afraid of the responsibility.Threatening to throw Palie stones. Disgusting and unneeded reporting.

Some of these monkeys prefer security and even repression to freedom.
