[history]
I bring a message on behalf of America: We thank you for your service, we are proud of you and America stands solidly behind you," Bush told about 600 soldiers, who were stunned to see the president emerge from a side door inside a military mess hall at Baghdad International Airport.

The pictures alone brought tears to my eyes.
I guess I'll have to check the TV for video.
Happy Thanksgiving & God Bless America!

Film footage still on FOX. Film footage STILL on FOX. And they're still patting themselves on their @$$e$ (and other parts) for being so brave and noble and 'keeping a secret'. This looks like it'll be a quarter-screen 'foxnewsalert' ("...we give you three-quarters of the news, you decide...") until Christmas...
Good job George!

I hope Tom Daschle is saddened.

Found these quotes from some of the soldiers with Bush at dinner, posted in the Guardian article on his visit
----
Wearing an exercise jacket with a 1st Armored Division patch, Bush stood in a chow line and dished out sweet potatoes and corn for Thanksgiving dinner and posed with a platter of a fresh-baked turkey.
Soldiers at the dinner spoke enthusiastically about Bush.
``He's got to win in '04. No one else can prosecute this war like he can,'' said Army Capt. John Morrison from Butler County, Pa. Said PFC1 Kyle Crittenden of Humboldt County, Calif.: ``I'm proud to serve in his Army.''
-------
BTW, keep the pics coming for those of us who do not have cable. And have you contributed to Bush's re-election campaign today?? Let's put our $$$ where our internet posts are, so to speak.

Any bets on how long it will take the dims and their press to find a way to denounce this?

Rolaids is gonna make a killin' off Dumocrats today!GREAT! Even more good news for the economy!
BTW, has anyone seen anything on Hitlery's trip to the troops? Hehe, perhaps the crowd (if any) didn't give a good light to her politically driven agenda!
It, also, couldn't be that "the smartest woman in the world" was upstaged by Dubya', could it?

From DU:
And how many hungry people could have been fed today with that money? Just asking.
campaign appearance
This does seem like a 'wag the dog' type scenario, doesn't it? Bush is too chickenshit to go to Iraq, unless Rove forced him to for his re-election campaign.
Oh...now a [CNN]reporter FINALLY makes the connection between his* visit and Hillary's. paraphrase: "This COULD be seen as upstaging her. More than a little ironic that he has come here and upstaged her." Reply from anchor: "Msaybe there's a little political stuffing in that turkey." Well, no shit.

Hitlery's visit got totally blown off the radar screen!!! Hahahahaha!
To: cadmus-maui
Any bets on how long it will take the dims and their press to find a way to denounce this? They'll demand that Dubya not use any footage in his re-election campaign...it would be "beneath the Presidency" to do that.
I anticipate this to be the case within 24 hours.

Yeah...All that money wasted just to go there for 3 hours and turn around and come right back. (/sarcasm) Can you imagine how far above cloud 9 those troops must be right now. Talk about a morale boost!!! WOW!!!
