'Philip Taubman, Washington bureau chief of the New York Times, said that 'in this day and age there should have been a way to take more reporters.

Yeah, right.

According to the detailed report by Pool Reporter Mike Allen, which is also posted on Drudge's website:

"When the plane took off, 13 of the 14 seats in the press cabin were filled: writers from The Associated Press, Reuters and Bloomberg, plus the newspaper pooler; photographers from AP, Reuters, AFP, Time and Newsweek; and a correspondent, producer and two-person crew from Fox."

Sounds to me that what Taubman is really bitching about is not the number of reporters that were let in on it, but the fact that he wasn't one of them.

People are perfectly capable of maintaining a confidence for security reasons. It's a bad precedent." Once White House officials "decided to do a stealth trip, they bought into a whole series of things that are questionable''... Developing...

The stinking press - they just can't stand to be left out of the loop and have to find a way to turn this into a bad thing. Well, memo to press - ain't gonna happen.

..... 'in this day and age there should have been a way to take more reporters......

How many reports do they need to say the President did an amazing thing today. One would be enough.
