Class of '98 checking in. Angelwood and I (both members of the Class of '98) went to Walter Reed Army Medical Center today, along with TruthNtegrity, tgslTakoma and Mark Phelps.
We visited Sgt. Santos and about a dozen other patients in his ward. Most of them had family there, so our visits were short for the most part. Spirits were mostly good, but some of the guys are dealing with serious, life-altering injuries.
When we got out of the hospital and were back on the road, we heard on the radio confirmation of President Bush's trip to Baghdad and let out a loud cheer!

Thank you for visiting the wounded at Walter Reed Hospital today.
I wrote a note to Sgt. Santos thanking him for his service and assuring him of my prayers for his recovery.

Thanks for helping cheer up the injured. I"m sure they enjoy being able to see someone to visit with even it's only for a few moments. It means a lot.....
The President's trip will really cheer up the troops in Iraq... I'm glad that he was able to do it and that the trip wasn't leaked.
