President Bush secretly landed an hour ago and is currently eating Thanksgiving dinner at my undisclosed location. Anticipate a press release after he takes off.

I don't know Chief Kujo. Hope he gets interviewed by a military history detachment over there. If not, have Chief send me an message via FR.
On security side, No problem, to fast for a reaction, unless the Iraqi's are monitoring FR full time.

Laz, make sure you're wearing your clean jammies tonight when you get your own surprise visit from President Bush. He has heard of your wit and wisdom on FreeRepublic and I think he wants you to join the USO tour. :o)
Happy Thanksgiving.

ChiefKujo,
Thank you for your service to our country, to Iraq and to Liberty.
Thank you for your sacrifice, this is probably only the most recent holiday far from loved ones.
Thank you for bringing us the Good News here on FR, hours ahead of time.
Prayers for your safe and speedy return home to a grateful nation.

so far we have scoops on FR for:
1. Identification of cause of 9-11-01 attacks as OBL
2. Loss of space shuttle Columbia (within 3-5 minutes of actual loss and prior to NASA announcements)
3. Landing of POTUS in Baghdad, Iraq...
hilarious... who needs the media now?

I live just north of San Diego in Mira Mesa. There were NO single seat SR-71's, but you are thinking of the A-12 interceptor which was to carry the precursor of the Phoenix missile used with Tomcats. It was the SR-71 that was also used by the CIA with high speed, high-definition cameras, not the A-12. The A-12 was slightly smaller and lighter than the SR-71 and carried a fire-control radar necessitating the round radome instead of the flatter nose of the SR-71.

I just got home from work, and the radio news had NOTHING on it. I JUST found out after I hooked into FR.
If there ever was a time I was proud of my President, this has got to be it! I cannot say enough about that man!
A Commander-in-Chief who GETS IT.
Proud to be an AMERICAN!

In hindsight, that view may appear tenable.
But, nobody in their right mind would have been that casual about the President's security before (or at the time of) his visit to Iraq.

A favorite quote from the movie "This Is Spinal Tap" (I might not have this exactly right):
"There's a fine line between clever and stupid."; )
(Thanks for accepting that criticism like a man. Very cool of you.)

Watch the video. He never even looks in her direction! He's the soldier who was saying a prayer before he ate. I know he was probably thanking God for the food before him but maybe he was also asking for strength to withstand having to sit right next to IT.
Lord, please let the smell of this wonderful bounty of food on my plate blot out the smell of Old Crusty!

He totally ruined mine. I just cancelled out on Thanksgiving with my friend's family. After seeing that, I can't bear the thought of watching her family beam about what a grand and beautiful thing this was. They're nice people but too many Republicans in that family. I can't risk saying something snarky or less than complimentary about that inarticulate frat boy,How utterly pathetic. This sad loser is going to sit home and pout all night because he can't handle the possibility that his friend's family may spend all of what, two or three MINUTES discussing Bush's visit in passing? If they'd called up and said, "Hey, change of plans, we're going to spend the entire dinner celebrating the President," at least I could see where a DUlusional type would want to avoid such a thing. But we all know that it would be mentioned for a moment or two and then everyone else would move on. Only the DU guy would have his entire night ruined as a result. Just pathetic.
...the Idiot-In-Chief which I once read was Nancy Reagan's nick-name for him.
Needless to say, I can't find a single citation on Google to substantiate this claim.
