President Bush secretly landed an hour ago and is currently eating Thanksgiving dinner at my undisclosed location. Anticipate a press release after he takes off.

The president's plane -- its lights darkened and windows closed to minimize chances of making it a target -- landed under a crescent moon at Baghdad International Airport. Sweet.

Hillary who?? Hillary where?? On this Thanksgiving Day,
2003, I thank the Lord for a great man and President...George W. Bush. God bless him!!!!! I understand there were tears flowing from the eyes of some of the soldiers when the President appeared in their midst. (I'm sure there are tears in the eyes of a lot of Democrats right now. They have been effectively upstaged again.)
To: Darlin'
Darlin', I had exactly the same reaction. I was thrilled when I heard Fox report and then I headed to FR to share enthusiasm with all of you wonderful Freepers!
God bless our good President! 4 more years!!!!!

Heck, even about 10-15% of the posts at DU on this are saying it was a "shrewd move" and the like. If Bush it getting that much praise on DU, this is going to go down really well with the public.

CNN radio saying that "very few" of the troops got to see the President. Which as we have pointed out isn't the issue. It matters to the troops that he willingly put himself in harms way to visit the theater of operation.

"We did not charge hundreds of miles through the heart of Iraq, pay a bitter cost of casualties, defeat a ruthless dictator and liberate 25 million people only to retreat before a band of thugs and assassins," the U.S. president said to a standing ovation. "We will prevail. We will win because our cause is just. We will win because we will stay on the offensive," Bush declared

Great story. That was sneaky of him, wasn't it :)? I'm curious why they decided to switch planes at Andrews AFB though.
