President Bush secretly landed an hour ago and is currently eating Thanksgiving dinner at my undisclosed location. Anticipate a press release after he takes off.

Scott Ritter's butt buddy Will Pitt has a poll at DUmmyland witht he following questions....
Poll question: How do you feel about the Bush surprise visit to Baghdad?
Poll result (248 votes)
Totally crass and with no merit whatsoever (141 votes, 57%)
A good thing to do if it made the troops feel better on Thanksgiving (62 votes, 25%)
Somewhere in between (explain) (30 votes, 12%)
WilliamPitt is a scum-sucking Bush apologist whore (15 votes, 6%)

Actually, the President will be eating his Thanksgiving dinner later today at the ranch in Crawford.
Would you like some gravy to help you eat your words? :)

New York Times must not have made the cut. I noticed that CNN didn't make it either.

Not to mention, you would be among the weenies that would not have allowed our inspiringly brave President to fly into Baghdad anyway. After all, that would be too casual a view of his security.

Excellent scoop. Despite the OPSEC feathers that you seem to have ruffled, I wouldn't worry about it. I think you played it smooth. The information as released wasn't enough to be useful or actionable until well after it hit the mainstream media. Hindsight is 20/20, which explains the concern, but the threat of Iraqi insurgent cells monitoring FR 24/7 and executing unplanned operations on a possible target of opportunity based on a vague comment from a vanity poster is negligible, at best.
Good OPSEC is always important, and I don't like to downplay it's importance, but in this case, I think what you posted was entirely within the limits of safety.

Prudence is advisable.
George Bush. Bill Clinton. Compare/contrast.
Way to go George, you made my Thanksgiving.

That's part of the beauty of this...you know damn well the courage our President displayed today ruined the Thanksgiving of every Rat and liberal! And they couldn't go anywhere on the dial to escape it!!

The threat to President Bush is in Iraq. Do you really think that CK's announcement here on FR would have made the terrorists any more aware of where Bush was than the actual troop activities in Iraq? Actually, I do. Who knows what operations are possible within the war zone. I can't believe that you cannot recognize the risk. Pun intended.
