Perhaps y'all will find people are more comfortable around you when you're not ready to pounce on some ill-conceived but innocent remark and potentially ruin someone's career...

``There is a ladder with different rungs,'' said Lesia Bates Moss, a senior vice president in the real estate finance group at Moody's Investors Service in New York. Moss is black. ``On those rungs, we are very well staggered, starting first and foremost with Caucasian men, who are running most corporations. Women of color are at the bottom of that ladder.''

Hey Lesia, you're the SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT! How many rungs are on this f***ing ladder?

``Because of those feelings, they will discriminate, often unintentionally, when their behavior can be justified on the basis of some factor other than race or ethnicity."

What a load of crap, ever think that it is justified, plain and simple, no unintentional/unconcience discrimination?

Wow!! This woman is brilliant! I had no idea I was thinking and feeling these things. It's amazing how deftly she is able to read the minds of millions of people she has never met. /sarcasm (as if it wasn't intuitively obvious)

More like a glass express elevator.

But, she said, many whites do still feel uncertain or uneasy around people of color.

Only when those "people of color" balance that "chip" on both shoulders.

I treat everyone as individuals if I say something that someone finds offensive I make them explain to me how that is offensive.

When I hear, it's a black thing you wouldn't understand, I tell them that's a cop out and they are the bigots not myself.

I also let them know that I prefer rational conversation and ask them if they are capable of discussing this subject rationally.

I also ask if they know the meaning of the word racist. They usually describe "bigot" which it turns out they usually are.

I love it when a black man tells me I'll never understand discrimination. That's when I inform him that no "man" can accuse a "woman" of not knowing what discrimination is.

Yeah.

Short people experience work life differently.
Tall people experience work life differently.
Overweight people experience work life differently.
Skinny people experience work life differently.
Strong people experience work life differently.
Weak people experience work life differently.

....

What a bunch of crybabies!!

I get the feeling that some of these people think that life is supposed to be easy. They seem to think that white people are just handed success on a silver platter.

``What stood out for me was the different issues and similar issues facing all of us,'' said Gloria D. McDonald, manager of diversity for Prudential Financial Services.

Maybe your poor English skills have something to do with your failure to advance, Gloria.

McDonald is black. ``We had an opportunity to all highlight the positive things we all brought to the workplace.''
