I agree that Red Cross performance has been sadly lacking. I was first alerted to it myself when victims following the OKC bombing caught them with the hand in the cookie jar. They would get letters which would refer to checks for that particular family, and there would be no check in the envelope. The Red Cross had thoughtfully taken it out to go into their general fund....or wherever.
My prayer was for the purpose of asking God to take command of the situation. The Red Cross used to be a very fine organization. If it can be fixed, then only God can do it. In the meantime, until there is an organization with integrity, I'm grateful for FReepers acting with determination to fill in the breech. Someone above suggested the Boy Scouts....wonder if that is a real possibility?

Good heavens...I'm an Okie (left in 1995 for job in Los Angeles). I'd not heard of
these mis-deeds of the Red Cross in OKC.
Thanks for taking my comments on The Red Cross in the right way.
They need to get a loving nudge...then pressure needs to be stepped progressively until
they get the message.
At some point they will "feel the heat and thus see the light".
