Sgt. Gerald Santos
Ward 58
Walter Reed Hospital
6900 Georgia Ave., NW
Washington, DC 20307-5001
He was a crewmember of the Chinook that was downed on Nov. 2, and is in Co F, 106 AVN under 1SGT Mike - mystery-ak's hubby, now back in Iraq.
He suffers from a broken back and a badly broken leg.
Anyone want to send me things - phone cards, whatever, to take to him and others at Walter Reed, FReepmail me and I'll give you my address.

I have a Chaplain in Baghdad and a 1SGT who can distribute those cards. What do I do next? Tell me what to do - send FReepmail? Let me see how many cards there are and we shall distribute them evenly.
It sounds as if there are a busload, and shipping overseas is no problem for me.
This is great!
Tell TopKick he'll get his cut! ;-)

"I looked over and saw Joe Galloway sitting with his back against a small tree, camera in his lap, rifle across his knees. I knew why I was there. I'm a professional military man and it's my job. But what the hell was HE doing there? Turned out he was doing his job too."
-Lt. Gen. (ret.) Hal Moore-
That about says it all.
God bless you Joe.

I have a big box which will be filled and then mailed Monday. I am thrilled to have this opportunity to turn at least some of my gratitude into action.

Might they want some assorted Christmas cards and stamps to select and send out to their own friends and familiy?
If not you, do you know of any local freeper willing to set up a rolling "card shoppe" ?
I am not sure of the rules at the hospital, but if anyone local to the hospital is willing to undertake this mission, I will gladly send a money order...

Thank you sir, and more importantly, thank him!
Does anyone know off hand if Walter Reed has a closed circuit TV system with a fairly modern DVD player, and/or is it connected to a computer system with a CD-ROM player?
If so, I will send Walter Reed, via the appropriate laison, copies of both formats so the patients can watch from their beds. Won't be in time for Thanksgiving, but they will have them before Christmas.
Any additional orders can be made at VetsCoR front page. ALOHA RONNIE, please let Joe Galloway know that With Love and Appreciation is still there for all our Armed Forces...at absolutely no cost.
Also, now that we can produce Video CD's to be played on DVD players maybe some civilians would like a copy. A $5.00 donation is requested for other than military personnel, but we'll send them anyway.

BTTT! Great work, gang. Proud to be a member of VetsCor!
To: TruthNtegrity
You have freep mail.
I will be very happy to send some cheery cards to Sgt. Santos and any other of the troopers. Just let me know what to do.
To: Eastbound
Proud to have you.
Keep in mind that we now have a Video CD that can play on most DVD players. I was doing quality assurance and got choked up, as usual, watching all the wonderful Americans supporting their Troops.
Hope you're doing well...
