Sears or Walmart

I've not been big on Sears but this is something to consider...
Please note forwarded message: I Assume you have all seen the reports about how Sears is treating its reservist employees who are called up? By law, they are required to hold their jobs open and available, but nothing more.
Usually, people take a big pay cut and lose benefits as a result of being called up, BUT...
Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining all benefits, including medical insurance and bonus programs, for all called up reservist employees, for up to two years. I submit that in an era of corporate malfeasance, Sears is an exemplary corporate citizen and should be recognized for its contributions.
I suggest we all shop at Sears, and be sure to find a manager to tell them why we are there so the company gets the positive reinforcement it well deserves.
Pass it on.
I decided to check it out before I sent it forward. I sent the following email to the Sears Customer Service Department:
I received this email and I would like to know if it is true. If it is, the Internet may have just become one very good source of advertisement for your store. I know I would go out of my way to buy products from Sears instead of another store for a like item even if it was cheaper at the other store.
Here is their answer to my email......................
Dear Customer:
Thank you for contacting Sears.
The information is factual. We appreciate your positive feedback. Sears regards service to our country as one of greatest sacrifices our young men and women can make. We are happy to do our part to lessen the burden they bear at this time.

Please pass this on to all your friends, Sears needs to be recognized for this outstanding contribution and we need to show them as Americans,we do appreciate what they are doing for our military,

I called Sears myself, as well. They told me this is true. Now would you like to give your US dollars to Sears, or the Red Chinese Army

I'm looking for a few things that I know I can get at Sears even though going to one will be out of the way and I MIGHT pay a little more.
I'll be heading there tonight.

I don't shop.

I am looking for a wife that does not shop, what are doing for the rest of your life?

Great story. Thanks for posting it.
Sears will get outstanding PR about this - and they are doing it the right way by letting us discover their great policy and spreading the good news around instead of tooting their own horn in a national ad campaign.
To: LandofLincoln
Most Excellent!!
Thank you for the information, but then again I never shop at the local Red Chinese bargain mart anyway.

I have had multiple bad experiences with Sears many years back. I haven't shopped with them in 27 years.
My Christmas shopping will BEGIN at Sears this year. If they have what I'm looking for, I'll buy it there. And I WILL let them know why!
It is GREAT to know that we still have companies that take care of their own! Thanks for the post.

EVERYTHING on the shelf at Walmart

Walmart is a cess pool, it really is, their big box blights on america.... I know the founder was as american as apple pie.. but he's dead and the board running the show now has no concern for america, local communities or anything else...
Not to mention the products are sub standard junk, stores are overcroweded and dirty, and you basically are treated like cattle when shopping there.
I don't shop Sears routinely, but I do shop there, and they clearly are one of the old school retailers that still have a concept of Civic duty.
I haven't been in a Wal Mart in 5 years, and don't plan on going into one anytime soon.

I guess I need to pay attention to their ads in the Sunday Supplement from now on. Although I'll never own a craftsman lawnmower ever again.

Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining all benefits, including medical insurance and bonus programs, for all called up reservist employees, for up to two years. My Company does that as well and we have had several called up. They almost called up one of my guys and canceled it the last minute for him. Twice. Thanks for the post!

Sears is a good US company in this and other ways. I like their hardware department for tools and other men's toys. Their men's casual wear is fine and the prices OK.
I'm not a Wal-Mart basher, but to get low prices it has shut out a lot of US companies that made similar products only a few cents per unit higher than the foreign ones it now uses.

Now would you like to give your US dollars to Sears, or the Red Chinese ArmyI'm so glad to hear this about Sears! Now I'm really glad that I just bought a great 70 dollar cordless drill from Sears a couple of months ago and not the cheaper one from the Great-Wall Mart!
Yay Sears!!!
