Thankyou and I wish the same for you and yours.
Three kids out the door for school, one to go.
I love the old lighthouses, I have a pic of my favorite one somewhere.

(BTW, did you get your tagline from Laura Ingram's book? I'm reading it now)Actually I made it up based on all of the slurs the Dems have been flinging our way. I suggested making the tagline field larger because the adjectives are going to continue to grow, I imagine!
I'm not familiar with Ingram's book - brief synopsis please when you have a chance?
I used to live in Juno Beach (next door to Jupiter) back in the 80's, but the lighthouse wasn't open then. Hope to visit it on a trip to Mom and Dad's.

OH, The memories of this place.....

NOBSKA POINT LIGHT
Location: WOODS HOLE HARBOR ENTRANCE
Nearest City: WOODS HOLE
Owner/Manager: U.S. COAST GUARD
Current Use: ACTIVE AID TO NAVIGATION/COAST GUARD HOUSING
Open to the Public: GROUNDS ONLY
Access: NOBSKA ROAD
Phone: 508-457-3219
Nobska Point Light was built in 1876. It is located at
Nobska Point overlooking Woods Hole Harbor near Woods Hole,
Massachusetts. This light was automated in 1985.

This beach is the best beach on Cape Cod, no one knows about it.
Well the tourists that is. We went there 5 or 6 years ago
none of my family had ever been to the Cape so I took them.
It was busier than when I was younger, but still pretty private.
This is where I use to hang out when I was a teenager.
I use to sit on the rocks in front of the Lighthouse on a huge
flat rock and draw all day, wish I still hand some of my old drawings.
If there was ever a place where I would want to live and retire, this would be the place.
Compliments of

.45MAN - check out The Mayor's post about Woods Hole. Are you familiar with this?
Rus, it is absolutely beautiful. taxachusetts is a horrible state to live in (I left in 1978 - never to return), but there is nothing like the Cape for people that visit. So many beautiful things to see - so many exquisite beaches.
That lighthouse is breathtaking - enjoyed your memories. Thank you so much for sharing!

I am always in the background you know.
LOL, good for you! I think I even see you there in the righthand corner . . . . We do appreciate you lending us your cheerful wife for these things -- I know it's a LOT of effort to get one of these threads up.
To: dansangel
This is pretty!
And it IS relaxing -- which is JUST what we all need right now given the pre-holiday rush!
Thanks dansangel! {{{dansangel}}} The pledge is too cute, too.

(((((((Freezie)))))
Thank you for the kind words. I *always* become relaxed by the water and especially when there is a lighthouse to enhance the experience. Glad you *feel* it, too.
We plan to spend the holiday alone (daughter is out of town and has to work Friday - ugh). We also plan to avoid the madness on Friday. Got lots of lthings to keep me occupied at home.
Hope you and yours have a safe and restful and Blessed Thanksgiving!

Synopsis from Ingram's book,
"Shut Up And Sing":
Meet the Elites
They think you're stupid. They think all freedom-loving Americans are stupid. They think patriotism is stupid. They think churchgoing is stupid. They think flag-flying is stupid. They think having big families is stupid. They are sure that where we live-anywhere but near or in a few major cities-is an insipid cultural wasteland.
They think your SUV is evil-although theirs are absolutely necessary They think owning a gun is criminal. They think George W Bush is an idiot. They even think it's wrong for us to protect our nation and our loved ones. Worst of all, they think our abiding belief in the goodness of America and its founding principles is naive and misguided.
But in this refreshing and blisteringly insightful look at the elites, Laura Ingraham reveals that they, not us, are pickled in prejudice, morally blind, and outrageously hypocritical. In a word, they are stupid. Ingraham exposes the outrageous howlers and muddled thinking peddled by a rogues' gallery of Hollywood celebs, media yuppies, trial lawyers, multiculturalists, Godhaters, and race-relations bullies who are exalted as heroes by the elite.
Ingraham unmasks the shallowness of elite thinking everywhere it is found: in politics, the media, the ivory tower, arts and entertainment, and even business and international organizations. Nor does she restrict her skewering. of the elites, to its natural home, the Democratic Party -- she ably zeroes in on elite enclaves within the GOP as well.
Excerpt:
"Elites come in all shapes and sizes. They inhabit politics, the media, universities, and Hollywood. They don't agree on every issue, but they do agree on this: They're tired of the American voter getting in the way of their agenda.
"They have tried to enlighten us, but we just don't seem to understand. They have tried to instruct us on the right way to think in this interdependent interglobal community. They have enlisted their friends in the media to bombard us with their ideas. They have tried to develop a new generation of elites through indoctrination in the public schools and universities. But we're just not buying any of it.
"We still want limited government. We want to pay lower taxes. We want to protect our borders. We fight back when we're attacked.
"We drive huge, gas-guzzling Suburbans. We own guns and don't want to have to check in with Big Brother every time we buy a Daisy air rifle at Wal-Mart. We want God acknowledged in _ our public schools and our public life. We demand the protection of children in the womb. We want judges who enforcethe law, not invent it.
"Somehow, we still believe in one nation under God. We still believe thatwe are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, among them life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We think we live in a great country - that `city on a hill.' We love America, and put our hands over our hearts when `The Star Spangled Banner' is played. And it drives them crazy!"
