3. This reaction to Deans deferment from Kerry supporter, Vietnam vet and former Sen. Max Cleland: Now, at a time when young Americans are being killed and wounded by President Bushs failed policy in Iraq... Our country can not afford to have another leader who took the easy way out like George W. Bush who hid out in the Houston National Guard. We can not afford to have a leader who weaseled out of going to Vietnam on a medical deferment for a bad back and wound up on the ski slopes of Aspen like Howard Dean.

Where was Cleland back in 1992, when our country really needed him and others to come out against the draft-dodging Clinton??? He is shameless in 2003, I guess.

As I used to tell my liberal co-workers during the 2000 election, when they touted Gore's "service record" ....
When the US military was teaching George W. Bush how to fly supersonic jets designed to intercept incoming Soviet nuclear bombers ...
they were teaching Algore how to type!

Wasn't Kerry part of the "Veterans for Ho Chi Minh" movement during the war. Wasn't he the democrat candidate who 'protested' for the Communists in D.C. during the war?

Sorry -- Draft dodging as a political charge has never been successful at the top levels of politics. Clinton, Quayle, Gramm, etc. People don't seem to care.
