I'm really getting fed up with the journalistic license taken with the Op pieces. Below a letter to Palm Beach Post.
"Dear Sirs:
Your Op piece regarding the Schiavo case is one more example of why traditional journalism is being relegated to irrelevance.
Governor Bush and the Florida legislature responded to an astounding number of individuals who are interested in the outcome of the Schiavo case. Your assumption that all of these people who activated are right wing extreme religious zealots is archaic.
Thousands of people are familiar with every word written or spoken regarding the case since litigation began.
Informed people understand that this is a case in which a disabled woman has been criminally denied treatment and therapy for which she was granted 1.25 million dollars by a jury.
Find out how much of that 1.25 million award has actually been spent toward therapy and treatment for Ms. Schiavo. Regurgitating the drivel from other Op pieces to spout sanctimonious nothingness in light of the actual facts available to everyone on the planet is journalistic pablum and nobody buys it."
Will try not to be so hateful in the future, but just had a gut full this a.m.
a5478,
Thanks for your sharp response to the Palm Beach Post
op ed.
It's really a public opinion war. Please help to
thwart their efforts to use stupid polls to show
that the majority believe that everything is fine
and dandy. Spread the word about sabotaging their
polls with answers they don't like and numbers
that will scare them in the seat of their pants.
Numbers scare them, because numbers means votes.
Vote for Terri at:
http://www.local6.com/news/2664541/detail.html The poll links in a box Who should decide?
Since they don't provide the right answer to pick from,
which would be "Terri", we'll pick the answer that is
the least wrong of the four they allow. In my opinion,
that would be "the parents".
