The Dems must have gotten back some polling numbers from Iowa that the ad is resonating for them to go on the attack like this!
Re. polling numbers:
Bush to beat Democrats, if elections held now
WASHINGTON: US President George W Bush would win an election against any of the Democratic candidates in the 2004 presidential race, if the vote were held today, according to a new Time/CNN opinion poll. If Bush ran against former NATO military commander, retired general Wesley Clark, he would win 49-42 percent of the vote, the survey indicated. A hypothetical match up against Massachusetts Senator John Kerry, would yield Bush an even greater victory 49 percent to 41 percent. The sitting president would win 52-39 percent against former Vermont governor Howard Dean, Missouri Congressman Richard Gephardt and Connecticut Senator Joseph Lieberman, indicated the poll which was released late Friday. The survey also showed Dean continues to lead the nine-candidate pack of Democrats in the fight for their partys nomination with 14 percent of the Democratic vote. AFP
