I see. So you place Britain, today, in the "True Axis of Evil" too? We'll have to disagree on that. No country in the region has its hands clean, but there wouldn't even be an Israel for this author to wish to form any Axis at all with if it weren't for British influence.

In addition, it was only British intervention that kept Iraq from going over to Hitler in World War II, and Iran wouldn't have been far behind. Hitler actually sent forces there, but the British overwhelmed them.

So, you may have a negative view of British history in the region due to this or that case, but I would say that overall it has been HUGELY positive for the region, or at least positive for the basic principles that the Western World holds dear.
