from the short time I have been posting, I think the above examples(except for maines, that concerns news)usually comes in spurts and I don't think is becoming the norm for the forum. Another is that its the weekend and news is usually slower.

I'll tell you what bugs me a bit. It's when I see a thread titled "Soldier Killed in Iraq." When we *weren't* at war, this might have been news. But we are, and it no longer is. I'm not cold hearted, I feel for the families. But this simply isn't "news," either on top of the hour broadcasts or here on FR.

Now, I'm familiar with "Admin Moderator". However, when I check "Lead Moderator's" profile, there's a bovine's rear-end staring back at me.
Question: Is "Lead Moderator" a real moderator or a disrupter-imposter moderator?
If the answer is the latter....Bring out the Viking Kitties!
If the answer is the former let me add the obligatory statement that you are doing a great job, Lead Moderator! :-)

I've noticed quite an onslaught of B.S. type posts and responses of late. Many seem to be from new members, so it seems we have an orchestrated attack. Just my opinion.

To be perfectly blunt, if I were trying to think of the perfect way to disrupt a website from its objective, it wouldn't be to come in and post things that would get me banned. It wouldn't be to come in and talk off the wall. It would be to come in and just gently steer the site to irrelevance. If I wanted to disrupt this website, I would get strict and throw out the occasional silly threads and make it as totally serious and boring as a meeting of the local Trotskiites.
There are a lot of painfully heavy issues dealt with here, and we need an occasional break.
Anything posted directly to 'Chat' vanishes without a trace, cause very few ever look there. Most of the posters to these articles I believe see it in News or breaking news and then follow the Admin Moderators link to its new location in chat. That gives the threads a start, yet keeps its follow up posts out of the 'latest posts' lists of everyone reading a more important topic.

Call me a newbie, but where exactly is the "chat" forum you guys are talking about?
