In other words, you view politics as little different from a sporting event. You've chosen one team and blindly root for them.
It's a real shame, but unfortunately the majority of Americans are just as foolish.

They will eiether have to raise taxes more on working people, reduce benefits to the recipients, or ration care. the rationing choice would probably mean arbitrary age cutoffs for very expensive procedures and drugs ("we don't want to use up our finite dollars on that 85 year old woman, how much longer will she possibly live?")
All of the choices are bad, but I think the rationing will be a horror.

Yes, those PEE-ROTistas sure showed us.
Unfortunately, we have not forgotten that horrible day when the planes hit the towers. That was the result of the purists 'punishing' a man who dared to do things of which they did not approve.
Seemingly, the farther away from the Towers the more likely you are to see things without the prism of that day.
We who had the WTC as part of our lives cannot be so blithe.

I believe the Federales always could do all these things WITH a search warrant and they still must get a search warrant from a court. there is much mis information that is being spread, mostly by the Dems. Maaybe the DOJ has this info on a website??
As for the illegal immigrant situation, that's a separate issue and must be addressed separately.

"His point is that there are no "rabid supporters" on FR for expanding Government spending. Even the (few) supporters of this bill mainly support it because of the conservative reform elements in it." One of us has misunderstood him and if it was me, I apologize.
In any case, Bush has rabid supporters and defend anything that he does, regardless of constitutionality or principle. My point initially was that those 'bots' were not defending it, nor were they criticizing. I was wrong. Some of them have come out of the woodwork to defend even this.
It's disappointing.

In other words, you view politics as little different from a sporting event.Give it up. Your "insight" is flawed and you're not good at it.
It's a real shame, but unfortunately the majority of Americans are just as foolish.
And you have all the answers, right? Are you getting to the part where you start bringing up your morals, and principles, and voting your conscience, and the person has to "earn" your vote? Is that next?

You've obviously not read the bill, have you? It does absolutely nothing to seal our borders. It does absolutely nothing to track illegal aliens. What it does do is allow the Fed to monitor your phone lines,e-mail, purchasing habits, library books and reference material you are interested in, and gives the FBI, CIA, and Justice Department the ability to track your every move without a warrant. Pretty patriotic, huh?I'm not a terrorist or involved in money laundering fraud. Those are the specific requirements. Do you have something to hide?
As far as the borders go:
Read title IV, subtitle A, sections 401-417 of the bill.

Frist has pushed this since 1997.

To: RJCogburn
Well, the bill isn't entirely bad (just mostly bad). Still, it's better than what the 'Rats are proposing, and it takes the issue off of the table in the 2004 elections, whatever the outcome.

"Lyndon B. Bush"
Don't forget that one of the first things he did after taking office was to nearly double funding for the IRS.
Whatever happened to disestablishing the DOE, the EPA, and other parasites?

"Fox News didn't exist when the 'Rats controlled Congress."
I know that. My point was that it was disappointing to see Fox News apparently engaging in the same dishonesty as the others.

Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security are already the lion's share of this countries spending problem. To this we now add a new entitlement.
How much is privatization going to save us and when is it going to kick in?
To: AmericaUnited
For thirty years I worked as a health care professional, and realized my duties were being fullfilled with benefits.
Now, finally retired, my husband and I will lose our prescription drug coverage from our previous employers and
will be forced into a government plan which will be more costley.
Why must we pay for those who earn less?
According to posted research, only 14% of seniors are without coverage. Would it not be less expensive to provide some type of coverage for the less fortunate and leave the rest of us alone?
The answer is a resounding NO!
Since they are required to pay no premium, then we must pay for them.
ROB PETER TO PAY PAUL?
IS THIS FAIR?

How much is privatization going to save us and when is it going to kick in?It's not privatization; it's some half-assed competition, and it starts in 2010 (unless Congress changes its mind). The full-gear program wouldn't start until 2016 at the earliest (again ASSuming Congressional approval in 12 years). So to answer your question--when is it going to kick in--I would say never.

The Dems are against it because President Bush gets credit for it in the eyes of many. It is another campaign talking point they will lose. Of course, with so much of their agenda passed in the name of taking away issues, they may as well be the majority.

To me the real problem/issue are prescription drugs themselves.
The only prescription anything I've been on in the last 40 years has been some anti-biotic for about a week.
I eat very healthy, use food/herbs as medicine.
I'm aghast when I see friends, relatives, co-workers with medicine chests full of pills. It's obscene. I believe we are "fearfully and wonderfully made", and if you eat right, the body stays heathly and will heal itself.
99% of all drugs don't heal, they just perpetually treat the symptoms. That is OBSCENE! Why? "The LOVE of money is the root of many evils." There is NO MONEY in healing the person, but there is a BIG FAT income stream for life to just treat the symptoms.
I refuse to get caught up in that and be held hostage by a warped system. If others do, that's your choice, but for me, I'm not playing that game.
