Man, that's a weird first report. Not one SAM, but two....
Or.... system failure.

I think the terrorists know that we are tightening the noose. This is an act of desperation. Fortunately, we have a president with the nerve and vision to stay the course.

Sorry, that is all I have. Look for someone to have it on the wires soon. There are several airline companies that want to begin service to Baghdad. That doesn't look promising now.

This could be it, Doug .. on a current Fox News article:

"Also Saturday, a civilian aircraft approaching Baghdad International Airport was struck by a missile, but landed safely with no reported casualties."

God Bless our brave military .. God Bless America ... God Bless us all.

This must be the one huh? BAGHDAD, Iraq -- A cargo plane landed at Baghdad International Airport Saturday with its wing on fire, witnesses said. The plane was trailing thick smoke and part of its wing tip was missing as it overflew Baghdad's Mahmoudiya district prior to touching down, said a witness who asked not to be identified. The U.S. military said it was aware that there had been an emergency landing but could not provide any further details. It was not immediately clear if the flames were caused by a malfunction or if the aircraft had been hit by ground fire. In recent weeks, insurgents have shot down several U.S. helicopters using shoulder-fired surface-to-air missiles and rocket propelled grenades."--AP WIRE

Prayers for all aboard. Death to the Islamic devils.

This from Reuters:

Plane hit by missile over Iraq, lands safely
Sat November 22, 2003 02:30 AM ET

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A civilian aircraft approaching Baghdad's international airport was hit by a missile on Saturday but landed safely with no reported casualties, an official at the airport said.

A U.S. military spokesman confirmed that a civilian plane had "declared an in-flight emergency". He said more details would be released later.

Missiles have been fired several times at planes approaching the airport, but Saturday's incident was the first time a fixed-wing aircraft had been hit.

Guerrilla attacks have brought down five U.S. Army helicopters in Iraq over the past month, kiling 39 people.

That's the point. Strangle the supplies by air and land. The attacks are picking up as the thugs gain confidence. We need to go house to house through the whole country.

Threatening the Sunnis by telling them we'll break up the country into thirds, with the Sunni's not getting any areas with oil. That might get them to settle down.
