UPDATED INTEL FINDS & ANALYSIS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
21 November 2003-- Advisory from the Northeast Intelligence Network: Based on newly obtained data and information collected from a variety of sources (Internet and human intelligence) within the last 72 hours, the terror threat to the United States has increased. Although the exact timing with regard to the execution of planned terror operations cannot be pinned down with any reasonable or responsible degree of precision, we have been seeing references to planned operations extending through the Christmas and New year holidays, with specific references to a time period from 21-28 November 2003. How valid are these threats? We can only speculate based on a careful analysis of the data found, but consider the weight of the evidence to be substantial enough to offer this advisory. We have identified various threats from the air and against seaports, nuclear facilities and harbors, with continued interest in financial and symbolic targets. Cities of interest continue to include New York, Washington, DC, and all coastal cities. A full report containing sources and reference citations is being compiled at this time.
21 November 2003-- Baghdad--Rockets slam into Iraq oil ministry, hotels-- Guerrillas fired rockets from donkey carts on Friday into Iraq's Oil Ministry compound and two Baghdad hotels used by foreign contractors and journalists. Rockets slammed into the Oil Ministry building that controls Iraq's oil industry. Also hit were the Sheraton and Palestine hotels, which face each other near the banks of the Tigris river. See Northeast Intelligence Network alert about new rocket in Iraq.
21 November 2003-- Intelligence reports have been received by US and coalition forces about the possibility of chemical weapons being used in the southern city of Kut in Iran and additional homicide attacks and bombings planned against Italian forces in Iraq.
Looks like Iran is finally joining the cookie-drive.
Perhaps Israel is off the bench now.
Some people on FR have a very dim view of the site as well as every other site that posts raw terror information. They'll be along soon to tell you what a load of total crap it is. Judge for yourself. Personally I am glad to read the kind of information they post as I would never have found it on the net otherwise, and a wide spectrum of information is always a good thing to have when sizing up a threat.
