Jackson, Calif. Prosecutor Share Long 'HIStory'

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - On an obscure track from his 1995 double-CD album "HIStory Past, Present and Future, Book 1," Michael Jackson (news) sings over and over: "Tom Sneddon is a cold man."

The subject of that little-known single, "D.S.," is none other than Thomas W. Sneddon Jr., the Santa Barbara County district attorney who headed a child sex abuse investigation of Jackson 10 years ago and brought a brand new case against the pop star this week.

Along with then-Los Angeles County District Attorney Gil Garcetti, Sneddon spent several months in 1993 and 1994 probing allegations that Jackson molested a 13-year-old boy at his Neverland Ranch in central California.

During that case, Jackson was ordered to submit to having his genitals photographed. But the investigation was ultimately closed without charges ever being brought after the boy's family settled their civil suit against Jackson for a reported $15 million and declined to testify in the criminal case.

Asked during a news conference on Wednesday whether he felt Jackson "bought" his way out of criminal charges a decade ago, Sneddon replied, "I think there's a sense in the public that he did that."

But the prosecutor, whose hard-charging courtroom demeanor once earned him the nickname "Mad Dog" but is now known affectionately as "Snuffy," denied that he derived any personal satisfaction from Jackson's latest legal quandary.

"My feeling about this is I'm sad that there's another victim out there," he said. "I feel bad for the family. I feel bad for the victim. Beyond that, I think it's a sad thing for all the people involved in this thing."

Still, Jackson's bitterness over his initial confrontation with Sneddon was made clear in the lyrics to his 1995 song "D.S.," in which he sang: "They wanna get my a---/Dead or alive/You know he really tried to take me/Down by surprise."

According to the album's liner notes, the song's official refrain repeats the phrase, "Dom Sheldon is a cold man," but on the track itself, Jackson can be heard singing the actual lyrics, "Tom Sneddon is a cold man."

Indeed, a profile of Sneddon on the official Web site of the National District Attorneys Association mentions that "he's the only DA in the nation to have an angry song written about him by pop megastar Michael Jackson."

As for Jackson's own suggestion that the latest criminal investigation was somehow tied to the release of his new greatest-hits album, "Number Ones," Sneddon scoffed: "It really has nothing to do with his album or whatever else he is doing in his life."

Jackson believes sharing your bed with a young boy is the most "loving" thing you can do. Sneddon disagrees, hence he is "cold." Considering the source, not an insult.

this could be used to slam the prosecutor's actions as vindictive. He better dot his i's and cross his t's. (of course in CF they dot their t's and cross their i's)

Word on the street is that Sneddon is a lifer in his job and not involved in sensationalism to advance his career.

Neither does he have a history of entering into prosecutions that he can't win, especially a high profile prosecution.

Apparently he's just a regular Joe, a religious man but not a zealot and but he has a large family (reported as either 7 or 9 children) which may expalin his long desire to nail who he perceives to be a pedofile.

PageSix reports:

Yesterday, Rick James shocked CNN commentators when he alleged "the prosecutor has a hard-on for Michael because he is black, rich and famous." The ex-con rocker continued this line of thought, "Why didn't they go after the biggest pedophiles of all - Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Santa Claus?"

I saw that. What the heck is going on? Why is there a delay?Where is everybody involved?Do we have some murders?

I will neve forget that Jim Jones of koolaide fame had governments sending him kids.

Searching Michael Jacksons connections to governments and charities all over the world may lead to the same kind of situations.

Is there something to be made of the loan-mob-Saudi-foreign countries-human smuggling-whatever thingy?

Could the strange one have some kind of terrorist enabling mechanism going on?

Jim Magill, the Bush aide will come into this spotlight, just give the lazy media enough time!

The suspicion that enters my mind is more about recruiting boys for prostitution than recruiting them for terrorism.

if FR is pulling threads that name the accuser, harm will be done to the gathering of news re:jacko-mob-Malnik-Saudi.

Print out the articles as soon as they appear before the moderator pulls them.

The accusers name and pix are all over the net, worlwide.

The horse is out of the barn, FR.

Since that other thread was killed, let me report on this one that somebody posted there an article from the (London) Daily Mirror alleging that, on the flight back to Santa Barbara, Michael Jackson threw a fit, wanted to escape from the country, and had to be subdued by his aides.

If I just give the link, that doesn't put the accuser's name on FR: Jackson's explicit letters seized. And these paragraphs from the story can be quoted, as they don't have the name in them:

There was speculation yesterday that the singer raised his $3 million bail with the help of Miami-based Al Malnik, a lawyer for notorious gangster Meyer Lansky, who died in 1983.

Malnik reportedly began making large loans to Jackson when his career nosedived.

Malnik, 69, was cited by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission in 1980 and 1992 as a person of unsuitable character.

The prosecution source said: "It just gets weirder and weirder. Michael supposedly has financial problems, but hiring someone with Mob connections is bizarre."

Thank you very much!

Now, can you tell me if Ron Magill, the Miami Zoo guy who gives zoo tours to Jacko, is related to Jim Magill, the Jeb Bush legislative aide, who in private practice before, lobbied for Title Loans of America ?

Also, in the animal area, I read that the trainer of Michaels tigers was in a car acident and went into a comma.

Do you know of any Neverland death threads?
