CA: 33,000 hired -- despite freeze

Despite a hiring freeze imposed as California plunged into an unprecedented fiscal crisis, the state has hired more than 33,000 workers in the past two years, according to new figures compiled by the state Controller's Office.
The numbers suggest the challenge faced by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger -- who ordered his own hiring freeze Thursday -- in trimming the state payroll.

13.9 billion dollars in wages divided by 199.9 thousand employees equals $69,859/state employee. This also includes part time state employees. Don't know if wages also includes benefits.

Freeze Hiring
Freeze Salaries
Fire every one of Gov. Davis's appointments.
Eliminate every Department, Commission, Committee, etc. that can not prove by outside audit to have a positive ROI.
Job out any State Job possible, to NON-union private sector.
STOP all checks to Legislature until balanced budget passed.
NO increased taxes
NO new taxes
NO new fees
NO new borrowing
