The President had a busy day in London today, with a visit with Laura to Westminster Abbey, and a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior, a meeting at 10 Downing Street with Tony and Cherie Blair, a joint press conference with the two strongest leaders in the world, and a visit to a London school for a Shakespearian production by the children for the First Ladies, and a tour of the Faberge items at the Queen's Gallery at Buckingham Palace.

There are more than a hundred photos out there today, and even with culling a bit, I will be posting many!

I think so. Remember the story about the Queen's visit to his father's WH? Barbara seated W as far away from the Queen as possible so that he wouldn't say or do anything outrageous.
W told the Queen that he was the family's black sheep, and asked her which one of her kids was. The Queen was more amused than Barbara was.

The beautiful woman in the photo, who prepared lunch for the First Lady is Nigella Lawson. She is a very popular TV chef, has authored a couple of cookbooks, writes a newspaper column, wife, mother... Not unlike Martha Stewart except she is kinda sassy and not as much a perfectionist ... also lots of men drool over this domestic goddess. LOL Some US cable companies carry her cooking show.

I agree. I always thought the rule is that the Queen is the one to initiate any contact at all.
And this picture sure looks like Sarah Farish is the one giving a kiss. And the Queen sure does look sour about it!

For the week, the President's approval rating remained above 50%, with 3 of the 4 polls posting DOUBLE DIGIT positives -- guess which poll got the most publicity?!!


FYI: I thought the President's job approval rating would dip to the mid to high 40s this week given the helicopter crashes, stock market scandals, and INCESSANT media/RAT criticism. Why didn't they?

1.) Republicans continue to support the President in unprecedented numbers -- over 90% in the FOXNEWS poll (statistical unanimity)!

2.) As the Gallup Poll verified, almost 70% of the American public approves of this president as a person (consistent with the personal approval ratings published by The Battleground 2004 Poll); consequently, the President manages to maintain a job approval rating above the 50 percentile mark even though he is currently getting 'subcategory ratings' in the 30s and 40s!

All of this bodes well for our COURAGEOUS president whose personal approval ratings would make it possible for him to post job approval ratings in the 70s if he simply avoided making the tough decisions like his pathetic predecessor. However, our W is a leader and a leader makes the RIGHT decisions not the EASY decisions!!
