Absolutely. Based on what you posted, I assumed that you were speaking from a Muslim's perspective rather than your own personal view.

You should have more respect for Islam than to let moderns hijack it. Nope. I have respect for the Islam that I see practiced by my friends. I have no respect for the thugs who kill innocent people- innocent people of all faiths.
That's what they tell you.
And I will take them at their word.
Christians don't sacrifice animals, because the Bible (in the New Testament) says the temple sacrifices were a pattern of what was to come, the final sacrifice of Christ for his people. As that is complete, no new sacrifice is required. As for the Jews, those who wish to continue the sacrifices are missing some necessary tools, among them the temple, the site of which is now occupied by a Muslim Mosque.
So, if Christ is the ultimate sacrifice, then are Jews wrong in their faith?

Then why do you generalize? Because I don't want to end up like the 3,000 that died on 9/11.

So, it is the President's job to tell American Muslims that their beliefs are wrong? It is the President's job to decide the theology of the country? Be careful... you're bordering on treason. ;)

I don't think anyone does. But remember, there were Muslims who also died in the attacks. These thugs don't give a crap who they kill, just as long as they kill for their cause.

What if modern/moderate Muslims believe the militants are wrong and are heretics to Islam? Isn't it entirely possible that the radical element of Islam is causing a secular movement within Islam? Then why are they so quiet about it? Why aren't there any great marches against radical Islam like the great marches celebrating 9/11?

To whom? The Christian or to the Muslim?Apparently, my follow-up post was necessary. Hope it helps.
But, since you seem to have skipped right over it in your chain of responses, I'll try to state it as plainly as possible:
The learned Christian believes Islam replaced the God of Abraham (God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit) with a false god (Allah has no son). The learned Muslim believes Christianity replaced the God of Abraham with a false, polytheistic god.
Thus, each believes the other worships a false god.
Now, if you still insist "
the Muslim mindset ... absolutely [believes]
that we all worship the same God," you're only acknowledging an unlearned and/or casual Muslim mindset.

The God of the Jews, Moslems, and Christians is the God of Abraham. Yea, some attributes from other religions may have been added to the "GOD" of some of these faiths, but essentially, they all point to the God of Abraham. Even some supposed Christians worship alien gods - like Episcopalians who celebrate pederasty. (Gods of Sodom and Gomorrah are not God of Abraham.)

These thugs don't give a crap who they kill, just as long as they kill for their cause. Exactly. And their cause is Islam. And they seem to have an endless supply of people willing to kill for it.

I know. Revisionist history at its best. Well, at best, even if everything in that textbook is the truth and nothing but the truth, it's not the whole truth.
After all, they're in the business of selling textbooks. Including the truth about Muhammad and Islam could hurt sales.

They worship the same God. What they have done is distorted/changed what they believe the Almighty's attributes are. It doesn't mean they have those attributes correct.
To: truthandlife
All the Prez meant to say is that both faiths believe they worship the God of Abraham. He didn't say the religions were the same. Sheesh.

The problem with what you wrote is that it does not work that way. No person is good. None. The Bible states it. There is one way to heaven, one. It is through Jesus Christ's redemption. That's it! No, "he is a good man, he has a pure heart" etc.
You and I have no idea what God would or would not do, but the Bible is pretty specific in some of these areas. If you reject the Son, you reject the Father. If you reject the Father...well, things aren't going to go well. I didn't make this up. Read the Bible. It's all there.
I didn't say he will burn in hell. I said he won't be chuckling. Even Christians won't be chuckling. They will be flat on their faces in front of God during judgement. You won't get to argue your case, you don't get Robert Shapiro as your lawyer. You are judged by what you did or did not do...mainly accept Christ's forgivemness or not. I don't know what God's clauses to the program are, I would just rather play it safe.

If Bush thinks Muslims and Christians marry the same God then does he think Muslims think Jesus Christ was God in the flesh? Does he think Muslims believe that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior? Jesus is God. Muslims do not believe this. Does Bush not believe Jesus is God? Bush could have answered this way:
"No. Christians worship the Lord Jesus Christ as God. They pray to Him. Muslims do not believe Jesus Christ is God and pray to a god they call Allah. But in America we do not discriminate against those who do not worship Jesus Christ. Nor should Muslims discriminate against those who worship Jesus Christ. He had a chance to stand up for religious freedom but instead foolishly pandered to those who think we all worship the same God. He is not going to be helped by this remark. The Muslims know we don't worship the same God. Christians know we don't worship the same God. So the only one he placates are liberals who won't vote for him anyway. Liberals think, if they think there is a God, that God doesn't care what we believe about Him as long as we believe He exists. That's the kind of god they want - a god who doesn't make commandments nor expect us all to believe the same way about Him. In fact, they want a god who says "anything goes" in terms of your beliefs as long as you believe I exist. That's not the kind of God Christians believe exists. Nor is that the kind of god Muslims believe exists.

They worship the same God. What they have done is distorted/changed what they believe the Almighty's attributes are. Strange way to worship the Almighty by reviving the religion of Sodom and Gomorrah (I am talking about Episcopalians).
You must change a few attributes for doing that. It reminds me one of Soviet Radio Erevan jokes:
Question - "Is it true that Ivan Ivanovitch Ivanov has won the limousine on a lottery?"
Answer - "Yes, but not exactly;
First it was Petr Petrovich Petrov and not Ivanov.
Second it was a bicycle and not limousine.
Third it was stolen from him and not won.".
Few small changes and all is peachy.
