I'd love to make one of these ATF nights, but it's 120 miles
one way and Friday is a work day :-(.

Sorry it's so far away for you; perhaps you'll be in the area or have Friday off one month and be able to attend? We'd love to meet you!

What do you mean by;
we CAN make CA CCW a reality?Shall issue vs. may issue?
More issuance in dry counties?
CCW is already a reality in CA. Unfortunatly some counties issue none to very few. A few counties, such as Kern, issue them in the thousands with little scrutiny of cause statements.

we CAN make CA CCW a reality! I certianly hope so. My Arizona CCW is not valid in Ca. I work in Ca, several days a month, it would be nice to be able to carry legally in Ca.

I'm in the same boat as Culver city is 300+ miles away for me.
Anyone want to organize an event like this up Bay Area way?
To: umgud
I have had a ccw for the past 14 years. It all depends on where you live, and what your reasons are. In the LA and SF areas, forget it. In the more rural areas, there are places where they are very easy to obtain, with good cause, as defined (loosely) by the local sheriff.

This looks like an exciting event. Maybe some kind soul can post a summary for those of us too far away to make it :-(
Hope it goes well.

As other posters have pointed out, it depends on where you live as to whether you can get a CCW permit. Therefore, what is needed is "shall issue." I applaud the efforts being made but this is, after all, California. Wouldn't bet the house on success.
It is a noble undertaking and I wish everyone the best.

CCW in an ailing budget state makes a lot of sense. CCW licenses are a cash cow. The state sells pieces of plastic for over a hundred dollars after a few minutes work.

Thanks.
I've considered taking Friday off and leaving
work early on Thursday to make ATF night.
Just haven't made any firm plans yet....
