New Evidence in J.F.K. Assassination Compels L.B.J. Attorney, Barr McClellan, To Demand Release of Documents

Monday November 17, 3:35 pm ET

McClellan, Former Attorney for Lyndon Baines Johnson, Petitions Support Of Senate Judiciary Committee and Department of Justice to Investigate New Evidence and to Release All Documents in J.F.K. Assassination Case

WASHINGTON, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Barr McClellan, an attorney who worked closely with former President Lyndon Baines Johnson, has asked for the support of the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Department of Justice to investigate new evidence of L.B.J.'s involvement in the J.F.K. assassination. McClellan has also asked for the release of hundreds of documents that were withheld by the C.I.A. and F.B.I. from a 1998 investigation conducted by the Assassination Records Review Board.

"The American public has waited forty years to hear the truth about the J.F.K. assassination," said McClellan. "For government agencies to withhold critical evidence and not cooperate with the AARB investigation is a form of obstruction of justice. Under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act, the public should be granted access to these documents."

According to McClellan and former AARB investigator Doug Horne, hundreds of relevant documents were withheld from the 1998 investigation into the J.F.K. Assassination. They believe that these materials are now in the possession of the National Archives, relocated from sealed files previously controlled by the C.I.A. and F.B.I. Additionally, McClellan has suggested a formal review of the evidence in his book, "Blood, Money & Power: How L.B.J. Killed J.F.K." which clearly shows a direct connection between L.B.J. and the individual involved with the assassination and cover-up.

"At this time we need to see what else is missing and what else would be helpful to presenting the entire truth," McClellan continued. "The Senate Judiciary Committee and the Department of Justice could make the request of the National Archives and should do so."

A press conference is scheduled for Tuesday, November 18, at which time McClellan will make a more specific request for document production, and will detail support for this cause from diverse and highly placed sources. The public and media are invited to attend this special conference at the National Press Club, in Washington, D.C. at 3:00 p.m. EST. "Blood, Money & Power: How L.B.J. Killed J.F.K." by Barr McClellan was released last month by Hannover House. 464 pages, $24.95 sugg. retail, ISBN 0-9637846-2-5. NATIONAL PRESS CLUB, 529 14th Street NW, Washington, DC 20045

These people are working independantly and largely in ignorance of the findings of everyone else. They are drawing conclusions based on the part which they know.
The interesting view is when you remove the conclusions of the individuals, line up what they each contribute and put it all together based on those contributed facts. That is something A&E has not done. One of Johnson's thugs left a fingerprint on a box on the sixth floor of the book depository. Doesn't make him the shooter or a shooter. But it proves he was there. The CIA back then did hire assasins both foriegn and domestic for particular jobs. This isn't a trade secret, it is a known fact.

What I find amazing is how people can be so ignorant of reality as to poke fun at reality under the pretense that anyone who hasn't drank the rosy world koolaid is a crackpot or something. The house select committee says 4 shots and at least two shooters. Who do you suppose was the second shooter? I'd love to hear a response given you have accepted the original lie hook line and sinker. Who was it?

How smart are we after all these years not to be able to come to a conclusion?

To be fair-what conclusion can we make when records are sealed?

sinkspur - do not criticize the John Birch Society - had the John Birch Society not so valiantly exposed and fought - in a very real, grassroots way - --- to expose the Soviet threat in the Federal government and in other circles - - we may have gone down as a satellite for the sickle and hammer. Read the history on it --- and not the "New York Times" version. your prejudices are ridiculously uneducated - almost too stupid - as if you are being paid to act stupid. Oswald was a patsy - he said it - he didnt agree to be any fall guy for the cadre that killed JFK. he got hoodwinked.

What is your problem. Go read some books. What are you, some bitter, old lefty throwback who gets his kicks being the contrarian clown of FR? dont make me throw up. you're part of the problem in our country --- people who embrace ignorance as a hobby. buh-bye.

There are virtually no redeeming qualities about LBJ. Really.

Prior to the 1964 elections I had read "A Texan Looks at Lyndon" by Haley. I couldn't believe that the allegations/facts in the book did not receive wider circulation. If they had, Goldwater would have been elected president. (Perhaps that was the start of my disillusion with mass media.)

Now 40 years later, all the muck is finally coming to the surface. Certainly Johnson was capable of the deed, but I want to see more proof.

One event I remember from the book (besides the stolen '48 Senate election) was that Johnson would hunt deer on his ranch--at night, with spotlights mounted on his truck.

The retired Army Lieutenant Colonel of Special Forces is the most credible witness I've ever seen interviewed.

One the most credible to me was a man stopped at the side of a freeway overlooking Dealy Plaza. He had a side-on view down the length of the "grassy knoll" fence. He was also a deaf mute with nothing to gain. His testimony was never given much credibility by the authorities, most likely because of his disability. To me, his coming forward despite knowing he would be marginalized or ridiculed lend him far greater credibility than some government agent or politician.

Don't bother with sinkspur. He's past his prime. He's unwilling to engage an honest debate without resorting to rhetoric and name-calling. He has nothing of value to offer.

yes, Prince Caspian - i totally agree with you. anyone with a pure heart could see and feel this man's absolute sincerity and truthfulness. only a heartless moron would attack his disabilities. a man like him who overcomes deafness and muteness is 10 times the man than most of the lazy idiots that live for beer and donuts in this country -
what a compelling testimony. so flame away, robots.

The Miami tape that talked about a plot to kill Kenendy using high poweered rifles from office buildings was chilling. Did you catch that episode?

Some people only listen or watch long enough to find something that offends their sensibilities. The belief system trumps any fact you might wave at them. And faced with having to admit they were wrong about something or call a fact a lie, they'll impugne the fact and pretend themselves smarter for it. We aren't here to nurse idiots. We're here following facts to get to a conclusion the government should have gotten for us in the 60's. They lied so we're still trying to get to the bottom of it.

Most of these "oswald did it" koolaid drinkers don't realize that the official story changed in the 70s. Most of them couldn't tell you the facts on the ground. But they can tell you what was in the history books - some of them lol. I was smart enough to know when they lied to me about my own family that I couldn't trust the schools on anything. Some of us believe what we're told and some believe facts. I'd rather believe facts.

I had heard that some records were to be sealed until 2020 or some such date.

Is this true?

Yes. As I recall (from nearly 40 years ago) records on the assination were to be sealed for 75 years.

Don't forget his "experts" adding Social Security revenues (for the first time) to the general budget to make the economic situation look far better on paper than was really the case. Vietnam, apart from the sacrifice of our fighting men, was a damn expensive war. Coupled with unprecedented social spending, the US went broke. The 70's was the result - "stagflation", oil price hikes, and the French (who else) demanding gold in payment for their dollars. The dollar went all to hell after that.

You know it is people like Gerald Ford that I am ashamed of - this guy is teetering on having lunch with the Grim Reaper and he is still backing the Warren Commission? Huh? Truth is paramount - without it we are in chaos. Somebody high up needs to come forward. Wasnt Senator (from PA) on the Warren Commission, too? The guy who zealously cross-examined Anita Hill? What is his problem?
Why dont some of these guys come clean? Clear your conscience! for the love of PETE, why doesnt TED KENNEDY demand the truth be told? dont get me started on Ted Kennedy, i know, i know.

Ah, so the world is wrong and Posner is right. What a relief.

There's no evidence that absolves Oswald; in fact, the evidence points to him being the exclusive shooter.

You've really got this all figured out. And so persuasive are your arguments. "I read Posner. I'm right". I'm falling over with the persuasiveness of your argument. Wait, let me get back up in my chair..

If you choose to swallow all the rest of this Birchite nonsense, well, it doesn't matter.

Birchite nonsense. ROFL. Who was the second shooter if Oswald did it alone? The official story as it stands today from the government is at least four shots and at least two shooters. How is that possible if Oswald acted alone? Oh, wait, Posner must have explained the theoretical physics on how Oswald warped out of the schoolbook depository to some distance in front of Kennedy to get the headshot, then back up to miss a few.. Just picking at you cause you're such an easy target at this point. Put down the koolaid and back away. LOL

Thank you for the back up. I'm reminded of the line from Shakespere, "Cry Havoc and let loose the dogs of war".
I'm sure you had this in mind when you chose your post name.
