"Laura and I are deeply honored to accept Your Majesty's gracious hospitality and to be welcomed into your home," he said, reading from large cards.

Does the President really read off of que cards or does the writer work for the NYT and is just making this up?

Don't know. But my first reaction was the President didn't want to wear his reading glasses at a formal state dinner. Seems this POS journalist was trying to make a different case ... pathetic.

The POS writer is banking on no one who reads the article actually saw the ceremony live.

I did, and it wasn't "large cards" but it was a set of index cards (his usual notes)

The writer is trying to use the usual ad hominem attacks.

He did have something in his hands, and big deal, they usually have teleprompters as this journalist well knows. Just anything to make him look silly. Thing is, Queen Elizabeth is actually down home herself, so she most likely enjoyed his company, and he rocked today!
