Jordie Chandler's sex claim case never went to trial was in part because his family said they were intimidated, harassed, and threatened, not solely because they were paid reportedly in excess of $25 million.

At the time, Jackson had private detective Anthony Pellicano working for him. Pellicano was intimately involved in trying to negotiate with Jordie Chandler's father- whom he accused of extortion -- and in discrediting the accusers.

Orth tracked down reporter Victor Gutierrez in Chile, author of Michael Jackson Was My Lover: The Secret Diary of Jordie Chandler, who claims that Pellicano told him, "Consider yourself dead!"

Gutierrez says that after he was beat up on the street by three men, Pellicano stopped in his car and laughed. Pellicano was arrested by F.B.I. agents last November after they found explosives in his safe "strong enough to bring down an airplane." His lawyers declined to comment to Vanity Fair.

At some point last spring, the boy's schoolmates — apparently aware of his relationship with Jackson — began taunting him in public. In one case, an incident of harassment is said to have occurred at a gas station, prompting the boy’s mother to seek legal advice.

Every thinking person knows what type of "relationship" is likely to result from close contact of a young boy with the accused. Why would the parents permit it?

Your response has a wonderful mystique to it ("It's been said MJ knows these shadowy types"), but why couldn't they just apply for a passport like the rest of us and have Jackson pay for some lavish vacation?

Thank you (blush)! It's true, tho, why not just go to the post office and fill out a form like everyone else? Perhaps their was some need for their identities to be altered? Naah, Jacko is super normal and on the level about everything (sarcasm).

Why the need for these heavy handed handlers? Usually when one peels an onion, each layer gets softer and more tasty, but this onion ain't peelin' so nice...

It's so easy to pile on and be sure Jackson will be convicted. For the record, I suspect he's guilty and would never let my kid near him. If my child'd life could be saved no other way, that's a tough call although you'll all deny it.

On the issue of a conviction, I see plenty of grist for Geragos' mill. The child was supposedly under the influence of wine and pills. A crime to give him those, but are his memories reliable? And the family seems to have come forward because they were being harassed by other kids, including ata gas station? The other kids' harassment is not evidence of Jackson's guilt. The methods used by this psychiatrist to "extract" the kid's memories will also be a main issue.

I hope the case is open and shut, but it might not be.
