>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>An ABC poll in July found that while 67 percent of seniors welcomed a new government benefit, the support dropped to 40 percent when pollsters asked if they'd be willing to pay anything for it.
That should serve as an object lesson. We need a new amendment to the constitution. "The US Congress shall inflict no liberalism or socialistic pyramid scheme on the US taxpayer unless refereed research demonstrates these taxpayers would pay for said liberalism if a private company offered to sell it."
The Prescription Drug Panderation Act must die. Phone your Congress-Maggots and tell them to kill it today.

The socialists' scheme of refusing to teach real math in the public schools is paying off.

"Private data tell the same story. Research compiled by the Kaiser Family Foundation shows that four in ten seniors spend less than $250 a year for prescription drugs. One in six spends nothing. The reason isn't complex. Seniors already have multiple sources of drug coverage, including employer provided retiree coverage, Medigap policies, and Medicare HMOs. Lower-income seniors often rely on Medicaid and targeted state programs."
What this paragraph tells me is that one in six is smart enough not to buy into the drug propaganda that they are good for you. They are also probably smart enough to know that the government (taxpayers) really doesn't owe them a damn thing.

How about a constitutional amendment that no congressman can vote on a bill unless he/she has demonstrated that they have read said bill in entirety?

The bottom line is that Congress is offering American seniors, 76 percent of whom already enjoy third-party prescription coverage, a drug plan with a $4,000 deductible. A private insurance company offering such a deal would likely have no takers. It amazes me to this day how seniors are so gullible when it comes to politicians and the AARP. PLEASE - read the bill and realize that it will be your grandchildren who will have to burden the cost of this entitlement!
