288(a) - child molestation they are clarifying for attorneys.

Penalties 3, 6 and 8 years (min. 3 - max. 8) per count.

I must say I'm shocked at how low the penalty is but given that it's California...

Poverty, disgrace and rejection by most of society go along with it...but you're right, pretty light penalties.

Why this is different from the last investigation:

1. The law has been changed, BECAUSE of the LAST Michael Jackson investigation!

2. No charges were brought in the last investigation. There is a warrant and multiple charges will be filed.

3. At the time of the 93-94 investigation there was a contemporaneous civil suit filed. Hampered our investigation. There is no civil case filed .

4. We have a cooperative victim.
