Shame on FOX NEws

Okay, so it's a stupid vanity that probably won't last 10 seconds, but I have to say shame on Fox news, their post Bush speech coverage is the lamest on TV this morning, they jumped to this stupid Michael Jackson nonsense almost immediately and now have some roundtable going on this subject instead of on the speech of our age. They're beginning to look more like the FOX network to me.

I turn Fox off when they start on the Lacy or Kobe stories.

Don't shoot the messenger. They're just giving the public what it wants.

"Michael and Laci and Kobe is what people want, and not just from the networks. Take a look at Free Republic right now and see which topic has the most replies. (Hint: It's not about Bush's speech)."
I went to one of the Laci threads one time to see if I could determine why people on FR would devote so many threads and replies to it. I finally just asked. The reply was somehting along the lines of "Well, you must be interested, too, or you wouldn't be here."
Last time I read one of those threads. Heck, I haven't even watched a full TV story or read a full newspaper story about it.

I agree with you- there is some mighty lame programming on FNC. Not all, but much of their day and nights is dedicated to laci, kobe, now MJ - instead of what I think is important. Exactly.
It has pretty much become the the televised equivelant of the Soap Opera Weekly. I can't stand it half the time.
As it is, I have tuned FOX out for news and gone back to the internet and the radio.

They do seem to be slipping. You may have seen it the other night and I have already posted it so forgive me if this offends but Mort Kondracke tried to defend Ted Kennedy and change the meaning of the word Neanderthal on the Tony Snow Show last week and Tony didnt even take issue. I wonder if FOX is slipping left.

Aside from Brit Hume and Neil Cavuto, Fox News is pretty weak. They stuck Linda Vester on some goofy fluff daytime show when she should be sitting in Greta's chair doing real news. Bill O'Reilley is a tabloid blowhard that sucks up a prime-time hour that could (should) be devoted to hard news and analysis, like a 2nd hour of Brit. And Laurie Dhue is only on for 2 minutes at a time.
All in all, pretty weak.

Today I cancelled cable tv altogether. FOX got to be a habit, and I watched almost nothing else. A little msnbc, cnn, but mostly FOX.
I sympathize with the Peterson family, as I did with the Smart family and the sniper victims. But enough was enough. I know more than I want to about Kobe Bryant, Scott Peterson, and now Michael Jackson (again).
Especially Scott Peterson. That incessant coverage was driving me crazy. And I was paying $36 a month for it.
TV has been my constant companion since 1952.
YOU HEAR ME GRETA? 51 YEARS!!! SEAN? GERALDO? YOU BROKE A HABIT FIFTY-ONE YEARS LONG, WITH SHEER NEGATIVE REINFORCEMENT VIA SCOTT PETERSON!!!
Goodbye, Fair and UNbalanced! :(

For those that haven't canceled cable, get ready to sleep, eat, and breathe michael jackson. Entire episodes of scarborough country devoted to this nonsense. And i was almost at the point where i wanted to see scott peterson fry just because his smug mug was on television 24/7!
