What Does The Democratic Party Stand For?
The Reality Check ^ | 18 November 2003 | Judson Cox

Senator Kennedy said the "US Senate (would) continue to resist any Neanderthal that is nominated by this president of the United States for any court." Kennedy called Justice Brown (a black woman born to a family of share croppers, elected to the California Supreme Court) and Miguel Estrada (one of the most accomplished Hispanics in America) "Neanderthals." I guess being called a Neanderthal isn’t as bad as being called darky or wetback, but the sentiment is the same. Ted Kennedy thinks they are less than human - savages who have no place in polite (white liberal) society. The Democratic Party no longer believes in civil rights; if you stray from the plantation of the liberal elite, prepare to be figuratively lynched.

The same week, George Soros joined the list of billionaire democratic donors. Soros, one of the wealthiest men in the world, promised $15.5 billion to defeating President Bush. Also on this list are Bill Gates, Ted Turner and wealthy Hollywood liberals like Haim Saban, $9.3 million; Fred Eychaner, $7.4 million; Stephen Bing, $6.7 million; Steven Kirsch, $3.2 billion; Bernard Schwartz, $2.3 million; and Sen. Jon Corzine, D-N.J., $2 million. The nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics found that Democrats garnered 92% of all individual donations of $1 million or more during the 2001-2002 election cycle. Republicans, received 64% of individual contributions less than $200. Democrats are no longer the party of the poor and disadvantaged.

This follows the Clinton presidency, in which democrats stopped supporting women’s rights. They were not troubled that their president was charged by several women of sexual harassment, assault and rape, and committed perjury and obstruction of justice when sued for sexual harassment. They used to say that sexual assault wasn’t about sex, it was about violence. When their guy did it, it was "all about sex - get over it."

According to the Democratic Party Platform 2000, democrats claim to stand for ideals including:

Prosperity... The Right Kind of Tax Cuts... embracing fiscal discipline. This apparently means raising taxes at every opportunity and spending millions propping up failed social programs and monuments to Sen. Robert Byrd.

A Revolution in American Education... Strict Accountability... Consistently bad schools should be shut down.... Supporting Schools of Innovation. However, democrats oppose accountability. Although a majority of urban parents favor school vouchers, democrats have blocked every effort. They approve pay raises for teachers who fail to teach, and claim that tests are racist.

Today, our government is focused on emphasizing results over red tape, offering Americans quality service, old-fashioned common sense... Democrats insisted Homeland Security include federalizing screeners at airports, unionizing them and imposing employment regulations that make it all but impossible to fire even the most incompetent or criminal screener.

Democrats believe government's most basic duty is to establish law, order... and keep citizens safe from crime. They supported a criminal sexual predator as president.

Judges and the Supreme Court. We will fight to fill the vacancies on the federal bench to make sure we have enough judges to promptly decide all cases and to end delays in the Senate that have kept qualified nominees, especially women and minorities, waiting literally for years for a Senate vote. This they apparently accomplish by threatening to filibuster all women and minorities that President Bush nominates.

PROTECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT Democrats know that for all of us there is no more solemn responsibility than that of stewards of God's creation. This apparently means imposing regulations against logging and clearing brush from our forests so that millions of acres burn, homes are destroyed, people die and precious "endangered" species become charcoal.

TRANSFORMING OUR MILITARY Translation: oppose all military spending to the point that soldiers were on food stamps, and spare parts were unavailable during the Clinton administration. Also, vote against funding our troops fighting a war in Iraq.

Preventing Proliferation. Unless it is by a blood-thirsty dictator who gasses his own people, invades his neighbors, shoots at American planes, attempts to assassinate a US president and threatens the world.

Battling Terrorism. Whether terrorism is sponsored by a foreign nation or inspired by a single fanatic individual, such as Osama Bin Laden... Unless Sudan offers to turn bin Laden over, then democratic presidents are too busy fooling around with interns. Also, instead of fighting terrorists in Iraq, simply cut and run.

Promoting Democracy, Human Rights, Rule of Law, and Civil Society. But not in Iraq, where Saddam was imprisoning children, filling mass graves and feeding people into plastic shredders - not unless France agrees. Nor in Cuba, China or other "workers paradises."

Even after reading their entire platform, I still can’t find one thing that the democrats actually stand for. No wonder democrats are leaving the party in droves, and republicans keep gaining congressional seats and governorships. You can’t beat something with nothing, nor can you beat it with vitriol and hypocrisy.

"The Democratic Party no longer believes in civil rights; if you stray from the plantation of the liberal elite, prepare to be figuratively lynched. "

actualy, the Republicans were the ones who were the major pushers for the civil rights movement. the left wingers have been spoon feeding the blacks for years to convince them otherwise.

What does the Democratic Party stand for?

The unending fulfillment of our base appetites, whether it is sex, comfort at others expense, or cowardice in war. Absolute moral license.

I should note that this is the left wing. Obviously Zell Miller, Ralph Hall, and a few lonely rational Dems don't fit in that category.

Any Democrat that doesn't completely tow the Left wing party line is now considered a heretic, Zell Miller being chief among them. Especially for his early endorsement of President Bush for re-election. And if you really want to go back a ways, just remember during the DNC Convention back in 1992, when the late Governor of Pennsylvania (I believe Carey was his last name, please verify) was not permitted to speak because of his pro-life stance. This only proves the hard Left has held the Democratic party hostage for well over a decade.

What Does The Democratic Party Stand For?

Rum, sodomy and the lash.
(which is how Churchill described The Royal Navy...only I'm sure Democrats would
make it clear that they'd like to leave out all that icky military stuff...
unless leather apparel or glamorous uniforms are involved...)
