WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has offered the prospect of an upgrade of the Abrams tank fleet of Middle East allies. U.S. officials said the Defense Department has discussed the prospect of an upgrade of the M1A1 fleets of such countries as Egypt. Kuwait and Saudi Arabia already have the more advanced M1A2 tanks.
Egypt has helped produce and assemble nearly 700 M1A1 main battle tanks.
The Pentagon has awarded a $26 million contract to General Dynamics Land Systems for the retrofit of 14 M1A2 Abrams Upgrade Tanks to the M1A2 system enhancement program configuration. A Pentagon statement said the work will take place in General Dynamics facilities in the United States and will be completed by 2005.

One can only hope. Just who does the DOD suppose Egypt is most likely to make war on, besides us and Israel?

Arming terrorist Nations, that will bring peace...
But then there are those who think Powell and his ilk are not about peace, but about power and world domination by the New World Order.

Probably on their own people, even though I doubt they would use tanks for that. Oh don't forget the Christians over there as well.

Oh come on, you are not one of those Illuminati believer types. Are you? I am still not sure about me. Lol!
I stopped going to these sites a long time ago. Whenever I want BS, I just can go watch Peter Jennings. Rather is out of the question for me. I dunno if these few links even have new stuff anymore. It indeed, has been quite some time since I perused the postings of these whack jobs. Still, it was a bit fun, for a time.
Enjoy, or get sick, your choice. I mean no offense when I post silly things. I am just a FReeper.

They would be completely useless to Egypt in either case. Libya, on the other hand, sits conveniently to the west, and Sudan to the south.
