Ahh... Molly Hatchet... hadn't heard that name in a while. I loved their Frazetta album covers!

never ever thought I'd see them on Fox News!

With Ronnie Van Zant, Allen Collens, Leon Wilkeson, and Steve Gaines all dead, and-last I check-Artimus Pyle not involved, I'd say, you're not seeing Lynyrd Skynrd at all, and haven't for many years.

Sorry to rain on your parade. I love Lynyrd Skynyrd. The first concert I ever went to was the Rossington Collins Band (1981.) I went to the 91 Tribute tour, which was justified as a tribute. What Rossington has been doing, IMHO, is robbing the memory of a great band.

They should have left it alone, to be remembered in dignity, instead of paraded around as a pathetic self parody. If Ronnie were alive, I have to believe he'd kick the living shit out of Rossington and Rickey Medlocke.

Pardon my interruption. Enjoy the show.

Hey, you know Barry Harwood? That guy could sing and play! I wish he'd have done more recording. Great slide player. Good songwriter. He was top notch.

Were you a west sider?

Did you go to the Jug?

Lynyrd Skynyrd sort of epitomized most long haired southern working class boys of the early 70s....that's why so many of us identified with them and now they are mostly forever young.

I just found this interview with Barry Harwood. Apparantly, he is living different these days, too.

Red, White, and Blue

We don't have no plastic L.A. Frynds,
ain't on the edge of no popular trend.
Ain't never seen the inside of that magazine GQ.
We don't care if you 're a lawyer, or a texas oil man,
or some waitress busting ass in some liquor stand.
If you got Soul
We hang out with people just like you

My hair's turning white,
my neck's always been red,
my collar's still blue,
we've always been here
just trying to sing the truth to you.
Yes you could say
we've always been,
Red, White, and Blue

Ride our own bikes To Sturgis
we pay our own dues,
smoking camels, drinking domestic BREWS
You want to know where I have been
just look at my hands
Yeah, I've driven by the White House,
Spent some time in jail.
Momma cried but she still wouldn't pay my bail.
I ain't been no angel,
But even God, he understands.

My hair's turning white,
my neck's always been red,
my collar's still blue,
we've always been here
just trying to sing the truth to you.
Yes you could say
we've always been,
Red, White, and Blue

Yeah that's right!

My Daddy worked hard, and so have I,
paid our taxes and gave our lives
to serve this great country
so what are they complaining about

Yeah we love our families, we love our kids
you know it is love that makes us all so rich
That's where were at,
If they don't like it they can just
get the HELL out!

Yeah!

My hair's turning white,
my neck's always been red,
my collar's still blue,
we've always been here
just trying to sing the truth to you.
Yes you could say
we've always been,
Red, White, and Blue

oh..oh..Red, White, and Blue....

Red, White, and Blue

oh..oh....Red, White, and Blue
