Heavy firing broke out at the headquarters of the Army's 15 Corps in Srinagar on Tuesday evening.
The firing erupted at 6.30 pm, immediately after the breaking of the Ramadan fast, at the gate of the corps headquarters, located in the heavy security Badami Bagh neighbourhood.
"There is a heavy exchange of fire going on outside. I can't tell you anything more at this stage," a defence spokesman said on the telephone.
The Al-Mansoorian terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack, which has spread panic in the city.

immediately after the breaking of the Ramadan fast This doesn't bode well for Christianity's celebrated Good Friday "kill a non-Christian" tradition sweeping the planet.
Note to society:
Islam -- bad.
Christianity -- not bad

Terrorists attack CRPF camp in Srinagar
Press Trust of India
Srinagar, November 18
Terrorists on Tuesday attacked a CRPF battalion camp in a hotel in the high-security cantonment area in housing the headquarters of an army corp, triggering a gunbattle with security personnel.
A suspected suicide squad of Al Mansooriyan outfit, a shadow of Lashker-e-Taiba, fired from automatic weapons at the camp in Batwara area, not far away from the Army 15 Corp Headquarters at Badamibagh triggering and intense exchange of fire, official sources said.
The camp of the 62nd battalion of CRPF is located in Hotel Scindia near where the gunbattle broke out. There are a number of CRPF camps in and around the place.
An army spokesman said the target of the militants was not the 15 Corp headquarters as the troops deployed on guard duty reported firing near a cinema house, approximately 100 metres away from its main gate.
The army sealed the entire area soon after the firing began around 6.15 pm, the sources said adding there was no immediate report of any casualty.

You would think they would be a bit more interested in food than in shooting.

Technical point: attacking military targets isn't 'terrorism'.

OK. The Pentagon wasn't the target of a jihadi attack. Those were brave warriors. That wasn't terror, either.
And blowing up American soldiers in Iraq, if not terrorism, then it's a guerrilla struggle, a freedom struggle, even, against the Imperialist okkupiers.
Very technical.
