As honour is inbred in you, I can understand why you feel that face and virtue are all there is to know in life, but what about others that don't think as you? Are they all wrong just because they don't have the same inbreeding? You would die to save face, even though it would leave your family father-less? Where is the face in that? Self, indeed.

you arent well versed i the rules regarding what is called rightous suicide, are you? the normal reason for suicide under those circumstances is that (if indeed, it was the father who did it) they did something so dishonourable, that the family would actually benefit from his suicide.
they would live with less shame.
but normally, the father is the head of the household, and so makes the name. its those that live in the house that can bring dishonour or honour to the name. the father IS the name.
