What the Erro's don't understand is that American wealth and productivity IS our weapon of mass destruction.

What a great article. This is the most definitive assesment of the American political scene and it's relation to the rest of the world that I've read. Thanks for posting it.

America may become a more ordinary country in the sense of having concrete interests and real vulnerabilities, rather than thinking itself unilaterally able to define the nature of the world it lives in. We have, since the world wars, and from our successes, viewed ourselves as invinceable. And, if we remove the liberal viewpoint from the mainstream media, we can acheive that vision once again. Luckily, mainstream isn't as mainstream as they believe they are. With the advent of talk radio, and the internet, mainstream looks pretty pathetic. A good example is my mom. She is a diehard democrat. But, voted for Bush in 2000. She still views ABC, NBC, CBS, et al, but she has also become internet savvy (somewhat) at 70 plus years of age. I freep mail her links to FR threads and tell her to watch Foxnews. Seniors can alter their postions and viewpoints. You can teach an old dog new tricks.
