I understand, but there's no point in playing if you aren't playing to win. It is foolish not to make maximum use of majority control when one does not know how long it will last.I see your point squidly, however, don't you think that the GOP's method of playing is the primary reason that they achieved majority status, or better yet that the Dem's lost it because of their political playing?
Give it time, so far it's working, but in a country of 235 million people it takes more than a day!
One has to chew their food thoroughly, for digestion to have the best effect without adverse repercussions which is especially tough to do while spitting liberal fodder out at the same time.
If the GOP increases its majority next November, then it's all good. If it merely maintains it, that's almost as good. If it loses it, then we can look back on a lot of wasted opportunities. Call me skittish. I can see the Democrats becoming more marginalized, but I guess I'm too used to being in the minority to count those chickens just yet.
