City Treasurer Susan Leal became the first of the losing San Francisco mayoral candidates to make an endorsement Saturday, backing Supervisor Gavin Newsom in his Dec. 9 runoff election against fellow Supervisor Matt Gonzalez.
"I'd rather not be here,'' Leal admitted at a news conference at Newsom's Van Ness Avenue headquarters, but said she believed Newsom "will be the one to lead San Francisco.''

I like this line.
"I have the greatest respect for Matt Gonzalez and it's a difficult thing to do to endorse someone else,'' he said. "There's not anything bad or wrong about the opposition, which has a different way of looking at the world.''
Greeny Gonzalez, in a world of his own. Even to these lefties.
