[history]
Jay Cutler threw four touchdown passes, two to Erik Davis, to help Vanderbilt snap the nation's longest conference losing streak at 23 with a 28-17 victory over Kentucky.
Vanderbilt's last Southeastern Conference win came against Kentucky (4-6, 1-5), 24-20 in 2000, and it was the Commodores' first SEC home win since 1998, when they beat South Carolina 17-14.

Their losing streak will begin again next week when they go to Knoxville and play the Vols. They demolished MSU 59-21 today and are on a roll now.

As a Vanderbilt grad, I join you in rejoicing, but this doesn't have the makings of a very long thread.
I understand the students tore down the goalposts and carried them out of the stadium; they were last seen heading down West End Avenue. Last time that happened was several years ago, after a win over Duke. Tearing down the goalposts after wins over Duke and Kentucky -- well, that's just sad. Now beating those two in roundball would warrent such exuberance.
But I'll take a win of any quality, and it certainly seened Cutler had a great game: 14 of 17, 175 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INTs.
Automatic reaction for any SEC team which loses to Vandy: the natives are restless in Lexington, and the coach may be in trouble.

Hang in there. Just a few short years ago Northern Illinois University was the laughingstock of college football. All things are possible...with a good coach, and a recruiting paradise like the Chicago area. :-)

Weeping tears of joy.....I'm getting a large bag of Doritos and 2 liter bottle of Sprite to celebrate.
