[history]
Sen. Zell Miller of Georgia came under fire Friday from civil rights activists who demanded an apology from the conservative Democrat after he equated his party's opposition to the nomination of a conservative African-American judge to a lynching.
Miller -- who has already rankled Democrats by endorsing President Bush for re-election -- refused to apologize.

Zell should apologize just as soon as Ted Kennedy apologizes for his "Neanderthal" remark.

""Either Senator Miller has conveniently forgotten a frightening period of American history, or he is willfully demeaning all those African-Americans who were hung from trees throughout the period of racial segregation in the South," said Wade Henderson, the director of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights."Oh, just shut up, Wade. You're a pissant little whiner, no one cares, Zell's right, we know it...........now just go masturbate to "Uncle Tom's Cabin" and keep your piehole shut. You're so "three decades ago".............

Clarence Thomas first used it during his confirmation hearings. Specifically he called it a high-tech lynching and he was absolutely right. 1990's style lynching. Almost the same result: dead nomination.

Or Democrats are willfully showing their racist tendencies by blocking black and Hispanic judicial candidates.

Tell them to go shove it up their Hillarys. Condi Rice has been called a lot worse and no peep in her defense.

So much for LIBERAL BIAS in the NEWS. Zell (a conservative) makes a statement comparing the gimmies hatchet job on an African American (and OTHERS) Judge to a "LYNCHING". All hell breaks loose. Sen Kennedy says they are all Neandrathrals and it is defended by most reporters as appropriately discriptive.

"I was offended. I think it was unfortunate," Daschle said. "I think those within the civil rights leadership who have commented and have asked for an apology are right."And was little Tommy just as offended by what little Teddy said about Neanderthals today? No???

The Dims casually throw around a lot worse comments, when referring to Republicans. Bunch of whining pus-bags.

To bad. You stop discriminating against candidates based on their religions and then we won't make you cry, bigot.

Let's not forget Robert Byrd's use of the N-word on national television. What hurtful memories did that not evoke, based on the lack of outcry?

And of course, it was OK for "Sheets" Byrd, former Grand Kleagle to use the "N" word.

Zell Miller stepped up to the plate (admittedly to the surprise of many of us Georgians). Call him many, many things, but the one thing he is not is a racist.
I am glad he will not back down and I hope those of us who appreciate his stand with the GOP on this issue will step up to the plate for him.
The call for an "apology" is nothing more than race baiting and an attempt to neutralize him
Don't let it happen.

I'm confused, here...only blacks can use the word lynch ?
