The Schindlers were saying something to the effect of getting Schiavo and Felos changing their strategy. I didn't really understand what they were saying....were they talking about in the present or in the past? Also, what is this now about Terri having an acquired cerebral palsy? This is the first I've heard of it. I got the impression that it was a recent dignosis and if so, how did they come by it if they can't have any of their doctors see her?

That, I believe, was referring to the past spin v. current spin. To get the money, Terri's medical state was such that she was in PVS but could be helped. After Mikhell got the money, she was not able to be helped. She wouldn't want to live like that.

Acquired cerebral palsy is a good description of her condition. Cerebral palsy is normally caused at birth by starving the brain of oxygen, but it can also happen at any time, such as with a bad stroke for example.
