Popular Sen. Charles Schumer, D-NY, was on C-SPAN this morning. He predicted that the extended debate over the judges will galvanize Democrats nationwide and that his side will benefit from what he sees as "Frist's tactics." Schumer is so popular that no known Republicans will even challenge him next year.

Chuckie is seriously deluded. Americans in general love the underdog. Democrats will pay a big price for their BS in the next election

This filibuster thing is better than nothing but barely

A better option would be bring a vote to change the rules. When the dems inevitable filibuster that, declare that rules cannot be filibustered, and hold the vote anyway. Then change the rules so that the filibuster rule can no longer cover judges. If the dems want to take that to court then let them.

Remember to call your Senators on this issue. If Republican, THANK THEM for growing a spine long enough to force the DemocRATS into session, past their happy hour.

If DemocRAT, tell them to QUIT holding the American Judicial System as hostage.

Call 800-211-0807, a free number courtesy of the liberal AARP. Yes, you have to listen to a short recording on govt-paid prescription drugs...then you must key in your phone number and zip.

You then get a touch-tone menu choice of YOUR PERSONAL Senator #1, Senator #2 and Representative...I guess old liberals are too stupid to know who represents them..so must have it made easy for them......

Here are some numbers that usually get me through to the capital switchboard:
1 800 648-3516, 1 877 762-8762,
1 800 962-3524, 1 877 703-9491, 1 888 723-5246

Try 'em and see which work for you.

I agree. An after action report would be helpful from those in the Senate. I suspect we've really accomplished nothing tangible. What's worse, we may have only encouraged the libs to keep this up.

A better option would be bring a vote to change the rules. When the dems inevitable filibuster that, declare that rules cannot be filibustered, and hold the vote anyway. Rick Santorum was on Hannity yesterday. He said this option isn't viable because 12 GOP Senators are opposed. He said their feeling is the risk in giving up the supermajority is greater than the cost of not having these judges confirmed. They feel since liberal judges do more harm to us than not having these guys confirmed, they want to keep this supermajority for when we're not in power. Oh well. Hannity was going to try and ID who the 12 are. I bet you anything Hatch is on that list.
