A Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee yesterday said it was "unfortunate" that Democratic committee staffers wrote a memo outlining a strategy to play politics with prewar intelligence.

"The memo was unfortunate because it had a tone of pre-judgment," Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.) told The Post. "I think the tone of the memo was unfortunate."

Ah, the spin. Still blaming the cops for catching the robbers.

"This is a microcosm of what people don't like about Washington, D.C. It's all about process and politics and not about substance," Bayh said.

That's right, Senator, and that's exactly what the Dems are doing here -- playing politics. They caused this, not the GOP

"Bayh, the first Democrat on the committee to speak out on the memo, said Rockefeller should tell the Republicans it was a mistake for Democrats to assume the GOPers would refuse to conduct an honest investigation of pre-war intelligence."

More spin -- this is NOT what the memo is about; it is about the DEMS prejudging, i.e. they have already made up their mind as far as what they want to conclude.

As for that memo -- dontcha just love it when the Rats expose their true motivations!

I think this was a real eye-opener for Roberts who now realizes that he was being played for a dupe.

"Bayh accused the Republicans of overreacting to the memo and using it as a 'pretext' to dodge a tough inquiry into the intelligence on Iraq."

You're not supposed to be too upset, says Bayh. He was doing ok, but then he took back his criticism with this little quote. Can't have it both ways Bah.

The only thing these treasonous bastards regret is that the damn thing was found. If they think that expressing these "regrets" is going divert attention away from the truth (that the memo was written by at least one of the Dems on the Senate Intel committee) they're deeply and sadly mistaken.

How on earth can men with zero street smarts be elected senators? The pubs have been played for dupes for years. It took this memo to open their eyes? Are their eyes even open now? I have my doubts.
